In the Realms of the Unreal on PBS 8/2/05

"In the Realms of the Unreal" the recent documentary about Henry Darger is on PBS's P.O.V. next Tuesday 08/02/05 at 10PM Eastern Time. I haven't seen it, but it got excellent reviews. It just came out on dvd last month, so here's a chance to see it free.

I watched the DVD last week. It's a bizarre story about a really strange little part of American folk art history. The documentary itself is even a little spacey.

Oh bitter irony! The Oklahoma PBS affiliate has deemed it pornographic and will not air it. Instead, we are treated to documentary about the aviation industry in the 20's and 30's.

Edit:
Okay, I fired off an angry missive to the local PBS station and got a reply stating they are going off the air for maintenance at 10PM tonight, and that they have no plans to re-air the program. Sounds dubious to me.

That sucks.

I've got the DVR grabbing it for me. I've been meaning to see this.
