I agree that SNL has downgraded its humor to appeal to the high school crowd, and Madt TV caters to middle school. I guess the reason being is that the college and young adult crowds are too busy partying or out on the town to watch the show, so there's no need to focus humor towards them.

i've seen a few madtv sketches that made me laugh. but i find the recurring characters absolutely, completely unfunny.

but i don't find a lot of the SNL recurring characters funny, either, ESPECIALLY the Poehler one-legged girl.

Any character by Poehler or Rachel Dratch needs to be kicked to curb, but they never do it.

Dratch, Fey, Forte, Mitchell, Poehler, Riggle, Sanz, and Thompson ALL NEED TO GO. Fire them, kill them, whatever way works the best in getting them off television.

Fire the current writing staff. Bring new blood in. Keep Armisen, Hammond, Meyers, Parnell, and Rudolph. Hire some new cast members, ones who may actually have some talent.

I haven't watched it in a few years, but when I did catch it, I'd say about 80% of it was funny. And I agree it's funnier than SNL by a long shot. I will watch SNL from time to time and often turn it off after 30 minutes.

Whenever I am in a skit comedy kind of mood, I always have my SCTV DVDs to put in. You want to talk about funny? SCTV blows those other two series away by a long shot.

Oh, come on! I am waiting for the Stuart Movie! Now you know that would be awesome! 90 minutes of "nooooooooo" "I don't wanna say" and "Look what I can do!" Comedy gold!

I've only seen a few episodes so maybe I'm talking in ignorance when I say it's a horribly unfunny show. oh well, ignorance is bliss.

definately don't want to see that, I'm glad that madtv doesn't make movies. I'm not saying that madtv movies would be good. I just don't think either show should spawn full length movies.

One of the re-runs on Comedy Central of Mad TV today had the infamous STEVEN SEGAL'S LETTERBOX 2000 sketch.

That sketch is better than ANYTHING SNL has churned out in the past 10 years.

I haven't watched MadTV since Nicole Sullivan was on it, and even then I found it unfunny -- her being the exception.

I could never stand Miss Swan, hated her with a passion.

"Hi, I'm Kenny Rogers and I'm about to fetch a baseball bat with my teeth!"

Comic fucking gold. And I got Jack Johnson and Tom O'Leary right here waiting for anyone who wants to fistacuff if they disagree with that statement.
