The Amazing Race Season 1 on GSN discussion thread
Rather than having all seven seasons of Amazing Race repeats bunched up into a single thread (and from the suggestion of BadlyDrawnBoy), let's seperate by season. Season 1 starts tonight on GSN at 9:00 EST time with a midnight EST repeat.

Is GSN good at keeping to a schedule, or do I need to pad the end a minute or something? It's bad enough their guide info sucks too much to not get repeats.

I was searching for a picture of all the teams, and that's the best I could come up with. If somebody has a better one, I'll edit.

The ONLY Amazing Race season Ive seen was the last one with Uchenna and Joyce. My cousins told me about one with a Midget that was hilarious so I would like to catch that one.
Anyone know if after this season runs they will start Season 2 right after, or wait awhile, or what?

No-one really knows yet Ravenous, they are advertising that they have the 1st 7 seasons.
And I didn't like team guido, but they sure as hell set the standard for entertainment value.

Hey, it's on right now ! Now I can see the only episode I ever missed: the first one!
It's funny how Phil wasn't even on cam all that much in season one except to give ye old kiss of death, I had forgotten about that. The music and editing have really gotten better with time, you can really see it if you compare this season with the more recent ones.
Oh and Kevind and Drew, how I meeeeesed you ! SWING YOU FAT BASTARD!

Those 2 fat New Yorkers were great! Damn I hope they last.
That Frank guy is annoying as fuck. Did they have him miced or is he really loud enough to hear accross a fucking GORGE?!?!
And team Guido? When I read about these guys in the first few posts, I wasnt expecting a couple of gay guys! LOL I was thinking Sopranos or something

It was weird to see the World Trade Center in a few shots.
The show has gained a lot of "polish" since the first season. Phil's banter has been cleaned up quite a bit (his lines tonight seemed off-the-cuff). The flags are different. The music is better, a LOT better (several scenes had no music behind them at all).
Fun to watch.

WOW! This is great news. I have seen all the seasons, and would love to see some of the early ones again. The show kinda jumped the shark with season 6 and cast more models, actors, and wrestlers in order to do better in non-summer lineups. Still good, but if you have only seen 6 and/or 7, definitely catch the older ones. So many great moments with the Guidos (who are named after their tiny dog Guido, not their mob ties) doing whatever it takes. Kevin/Drew are a great/funny team too ("Parlez vous cerveza?") - the show has tried hard to recreate them ever since. One of my favorite moments from this season is Lenny and Karyn in Paris. When I test my wife's patience.... "LENNY!!!"

It's Amazing To See How The Show Has Evolved Since 2001. I Just Finished Watching The 1st Episode And It's Definitely Not What I'm Used To Watching From The Amazing Race. The Pacing Is Slower, Not That Much Music. Also, What's Up With Those Little Coffee Cans Where The Clues Are Located?

I think when 4 of those teams checked in, I hadn't seen them the entire episode. I had no idea that there was a 2nd black couple.
Damn - that daughter on the mother-daughter team has some major yabos. Didn't notice it until the very end.
