Tivo question
i have a directivo right now but i am considering switching to dish. if i do switch will i be able to play the programs that i still have saved on my tivo?

thanks for the info. i know that i have to have a separate DVR for dish, but i have some shows recorded to my current tivo that i want to keep but don't have DVD burner capabilities.

FWIW...
We loaded up a DTivo once before a trip to the beach when we weren't sure if they would even have cable, and brought it along with us (sans the DirecTV dish, of course). You just wait until it gets to the loading satellite step, then go to your NPL. Works fine.
You can test this yourself by unplugging the SAT and restarting.
You just won't be able to go to "live tv".
