Plus except for Richard & Joe, the geeks aren't all that geeky - to the Lambda Lambda Lambda level. Unless you count nosebleeding , which reminded me of the Homer Goes to College Simpsons episode.

After they really played up that those 2 were 'hooking' up I knew who would win the elimination round. They wouldn't show them making out and her talking how much she liked him and then she loses and goes home. Was a bit suprised that Joe knew that was an Andre 3000 Outcast song. Still not sure how, even if you are just into yourself and don't watch the news or anything, you don't know Clinton was the president from Arkansas.

I'll probably keep watching if I remember it's on

I've heard enough bimbo and homeless quizzes on Howard Stern to know that would be a stumper question.

That was the flaw in that part of the contest. No matter how much of a geeky social outcast (har har) you may be, unless you're a secluded mad scientist, you're still going to know a lot of music and popular culture and probably sports. Geeks are into that stuff too, and these Mensa dudes are also blessed with great memory recall.

"White Urkel" line had me cracking up.

But my favorite part was almost a throwaway... I think it was in the final competition after the girl answered "Hoover" to who the question "Who was president during the Civil War?" When she was told the correct answer was "Lincoln" she muttered "oh, D-Day" under her breath.

I didn't know the 50 cent question. This is probably a testament to my "old man" status as much as it is my geekiness.

Yeah, the geeks' challenge should be to go to a popular shopping mall and get three phone numbers.

Could even good looking, outgoing people pull that off, at least quickly?

Based on the comments in this thread I'm going to give this show I hadn't heard about a shot. First I have to check and see if The WB is even available on my system. I don't think I've ever watched it before.

For those like me who missed this last night, it is re-running tonight.

I know several people who could do it relatively quickly.

I have to say I enjoyed it.

Does anyone else think Richard reminds them of Arvid from head of the class.

That Brad guy's been planted by the producers He may be smart, but he doesn't have the "nerd/geek" look to him. I guess they wanted one of the girls to hook up with one of the nerds at some point during the show to prove that even nerds can get the girl, but he's too close to a stud (at least when compared to the rest of the guys on the show).

I would have thought that Richard was the plant. His mannerisms and the way he delivers his lines just seemed too spot-on for the funny. The comment in his private interview when his partner mentioned that she might spoon him was hilarious though.

"Any of you ever heard of the Sixers?"
*blank stares*

Either they were hypnotized by her boobs (possible!) or there isn't a single sports fan in that group of guys.

Erika reminds me of Melissa Joan Hart, she's very cute. Too bad for Joe that she can't keep it in her pants. Lauren, the one with the smoker's voice, actually seems to be the worst of the bunch though. She was the only one so far that has been putting the guys down. Scarlet stuck me as the hottest. It didn't hurt when she said she was a salsa dancer either

I expected half the guys to be like Richard. He screws up the curve because they all look smooth next to him. Hopefully he's gone soon. I can't stand his schtick. He's like Steve Urkel and Ed Grimley's bastard son. I felt bad for Chuck with the nosebleeds. Caitlin was amazingly cool about it. She's gotta be my favorite right now for that alone.

Brad and Richard could both be legit. I'm sure they auditioned tons of guys, so managing to find one good looking confident one isn't too far fetched. Obviously Richard is putting on an act, but I'm not sure if it's just for the show or if he does that in his every day life. I doubt anyone told him to act like that. If he's faking it, it's probably for his own benefit, to get on tv.

Richard did seem sincere after they finished their dancing routine and he was convinced they were going to lose.

I thought many of the guys seemed cute, like cool guys, hardly the "geeks" they were made out to be.

They could have found a bunch of Harry Knowles types. I think they deliberately cast guys that had hook-up potential. It would have a funnier show if the guys were actual geeks.

Well, or there was some not-so-subtle editing there. Reminded me of the time Homer was on Rock Bottom.

But you aren't a 22 year old life size Barbie doll model. I mean that as a compliment

Brad is a ringer though. From his bio on the website:
Currently a bank teller, 24-year-old Brad will attend business school at Georgia Tech in the fall. Brad was talked into the "Beauty and the Geek" auditions by his mother and sister. He enjoys reading, playing guitar and weight lifts three times a week.

Watched this today off the DVR. Couple of comments:

Pretty funny. I'm in.

It has a bit of a Joe Schmo feel to it, and it is an Ashton Kutcher production, so...

Take the glasses off Eric and he could have been the quizmaster. Where they ever in the shot at the same time? More to ponder...

I can't believe I missed that the first time around...

"I might have to spoon you later."
[To the camera]"So, what, are you going to feed me, are we gonna have some soup later?"

I'd like to see more interaction between the couples instead of the rapid five second clip then cutaway for comments style of the first show. Let the scenes play out longer. Some of us tuning in don't have ADD. Are these couples spending the whole day together, eating breakfast lunch and dinner? I'd rather see more of that than multiple lengthy quiz segments. They also need a better host.

That Richard guy seems a little "too good to be true" to me.
Trust me, he's not. I don't know him personally, but imagine my shock when I saw him on TV. Probably two years ago when I was on a cruise, there was this super dorky kid who played the piano in the on-ship talent show. I could not believe how dorky he was. My fiancee and I laughed the whole rest of the week. He seemed so over the top... his name? Richard... from New Jersey... the very samel... He is 100% authentic.

GT has a business school? How times have changed.

I'll miss Cheryl, she was interesting to stare at (unlike a few of the other girls in the mix). I liked the one that had to deal with nosebleed boy, too.

Richard's voice and a bit of his mannerisms remind me of this guy:
