Those customers obviously knew they were on a reality TV show.
How else could you get attractive people to show up at the same time to an unknown restaraunt on the chance that they would not get thier food all while being filmed? |
3 whole michellin stars? Confetti on dog turds has a higher prestige around here. If there was any kind of food boy around here that acted like this guy, he wouldn’t live long. Someone would have shoved his own food up his ass, or stuck a fork in his eye in less than 5 minutes. I would have grilled his face just for the hell of it.

Then again it is L.A so everybody who goes to those chic restaurants just want to be seen and heard anyway. What a self absorbed town. Good for calling those blondes chick bimbos :up: |

I don't know if this is going to be shown on BBC America or whether you can find it by . . . uh, other means, but you should look out for his other show, "Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares." The second season has just started over here and it's hilarious. It's like Queer Eye in a restaraunt. And you get the impression that, despite all his sound and fury, that he's a genuinely nice guy who really cares about these people and wants to save them from themselves.

I avoid "reality" shows like the plague, but I saw a preview of this and was hoping the show would contain someone giving the jagoff a good wallop. Unfortunately, these people (what kind of imbeciles go on reality shows anyway? It's the Paris Hilton generation; culture can't go much lower than this.) were all complete pushovers, especially that Dewberry clown (a guy who names himself that is begging for a beat-down).
The chef asshole made some comment in one of the asides about how his effrontery is not meant to be taken personally. The scumfuck is either mugging for the camera, or he hasn't a clue how one conducts oneself around other humans. |

For anyone that thinks he's puting on an act, check out his shows on BBC America that have already been mentioned. He really does acts like that in his own resturaunts, but his employees seem to take with a grain of salt.

Or if your an O&A listener remember when Chef Rocco was on, he described Manhattans hottest Sushi joint. Basically you walked in and ate whatever the chef wanted you to eat, you had no say in the matter. Its more art than food, and you deal with an artists personality. |

i was playing at the computer and corrie was watching in the background and this guy was mean as shit.. i couldnt help but turn and watch a bit :lol: I doubt this show will do all that well.. but its got some entertainment potential, as long as he keeps ripping them so hard |

Fox cooks with 'Hell's Kitchen' debut Wed Jun 01, 3:30 AM ET ABC had the NBA playoffs, NBC had the Miss Universe pageant but Fox had just about the only real heat in primetime Monday with the 9 p.m. debut of cooking-reality show "Hell's Kitchen." But CBS still won the night, as usual, on the strength of its encores of "Everybody Loves Raymond," "Two and a Half Men" and "CSI: Miami." "Hell's Kitchen" brought in 6.6 million viewers and a 3.2 rating/8 share in the coveted adults 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary estimates from Nielsen Media Research. NBC's Miss Universe coverage brought in 9 million viewers and 3.1/9 from 9-11 p.m. ABC's coverage of the NBA post-season did not appear to generate many Nielsen sparks, though reliable national ratings for the live game coverage won't be available until Wednesday because of the Memorial Day holiday. At 10 p.m., "CSI: Miami" (12.9 million, 4.1/11) was the night's most-watched program, and the top scorer in adults 18-49. For the night, CBS led with 10.6 million viewers and 3.2/9 in the key demo. Fox and NBC tied for No. 2 in adults 18-49 (2.8/8) while NBC placed second in viewers (7.9 million). |
Another triumph for Ramsay.
I defy anyone who saw tonight's episode to not come back for next week's. Even though Ramsay (expectedly) backed off a notch, it was great TV. And next week's episode looks like it should be a barnburner. Don't forget for those with BBC America, they are re-running "Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares" beginning tomorrow night. I have not seen the show myself, but it comes highly recommended. |
I have to agree that on the 2nd episode, Ramsey did act a bit more humane. Like someone said earlier, he's trying to weed out the weak. He was actually very civil with them when the one team had dinner with him. I'm still not sure why he would talk to customers that way, but hey, I enjoy watching it :)

Man oh man did Dewberry have to go! Three minutes in (I missed the first episode) and I was thinking "What a whiny, cowardly beotch!" I mean Elsie is an executive assistance mother of 6 and was kicking ass last night... getting the job done and trying to hold her own.
Dewberry (btw what the HELL kinda name is that? Call him "Dewey" or something!) is a PASTRY CHEF! Shouldn't he have more of a clue how to work in a professional kitchen or have a little more culinary expertise? Jeff's situation is just an odd scenario. What is up with the producers? If he is suffering from kidney stones THAT badly, he really should see a doctor instead of "toughing it out". |
