i never watched survivor or amazing race but tuned this show on for a half hour. This guy Rob is the most unlikeable jerk i have ever seen. If Amber is that dumb to marry him she deserves what she gets. No way this marriage last more then 3 years. Have fun Amber.

but I still really enjoyed it. It was handled very well and was just a nice show about two relatively normal people eating up a CBS budget and having a cool wedding. More power to them. Hopefully the appearance is the reality, and they have a great life.
I liked the difference between the gifts:
Ambuh: Here's a painting.
Rob: Oh cool, here's a completely furnished house.
Ambuh: Erm ... wow. OK, well, here's some sand.
Rob: Great, here's some diamond earrings.

Which one won the million again?
However, you have to admit, that was a pretty kickass painting; and then to go the extra mile (albeit with some help from CBS...) to get the autographs. Amber kicks ass. I loved Rob in the furniture store...."I'll take 2 of those, 3 of those, everything from here to there....." It reminded of me Back to School when Thornton Mellon is in the book store buying up everything for everyone.
I found it quite entertaining. That was a pretty cool way to do a wedding.

I'm a Robfather fan dating all the way back to Marquesas but I didn't watch this. Actually, I didn't watch TAR either, but that was more of a time conflict thing.

It was schmaltzy, but mildly entertaining. I watched The Contender and this with the wife on DVR. Even minus the commercials it dragged a bit. But my crush on Ambuh is unabated. She always seems to do or say exactly what a guy would love his girl to do or say. If she could blink her eyes and perform magic she would be a real life Jeannie. Rob knows he is marrying way out of his league, and will not likely screw it up because of that. I should know...I did the same thing.

Boston Rob Joins CBS' 'Early Show'

Rob Mariano is putting his Machiavellian ways behind him. But he's still on TV.
The kinder, gentler Boston Rob is now part of "The Early Show," CBS' morning-news program. Mariano will be taking part in a series called "Rob to the Rescue," in which he travels to locales across the country and tries to help people in need -- sort of a smaller-scale "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" or "Three Wishes."

His first appearance on "The Early Show" was Tuesday (Nov. 22), when he traveled to a small town in Michigan to help a woman who rescues animals renovate her facilities.
The do-gooding is something of a switch from Mariano's previous TV persona. He became known as a master manipulator on two editions of CBS' "Survivor" -- including last year's "All-Stars" -- and built on that reputation when he ran "The Amazing Race" with his future wife, fellow "Survivor" Amber Brkich.
Prior to finding and extending his reality-show fame, Mariano worked as a foreman for a construction company in his hometown.
Wow! Only on planet Earth!
