Good ep. The season started off really poor for me, but has vastly improved as it progressed.
Looks like the shit hits the fan next week... from epguides.com:

Great episode tonight. The 90 minutes flew right by. I also agree that this season has picked up steam during the second half. Next week's episode looks intense!

Great Episode.
The Aceveda storyline is really, really good stuff and Benito Martinez has been *awesome* in playing him as a tortured, power hungary 3 Dimensional character, so to him.
Speaking of awesome, Walton Goggins has been nothing short of it this season.

How great was Glenn Close in this episode. Wow. This will probably the one submitted for Emmy consideration, and in my mind seals any doubt about who should win the Female Drama Lead award.

Vic always has his play, and we shall see if this was the right one. Amazing how close Shane was to killing Antoine right there in the interrogation room. Very intense stuff.
I kind of felt sorry for the whore. I think she really felt like she was good at helping people through their issues, and even after Aceveda went psycho on her she was kind and thoughtful in her words. And all he could say was "A good man wouldn't be here with you" and "Get out."

I missed some earlier aspects of the show. In the beginning of this season he was replaced by Glenn Close as captain.
But now, can someone give me a quick rundown on how/why Aceveda is back on the force and in a regular patrolman uniform?

What an awesome episode. Had a great feel and pacing throughout. As usual, I hated the non-main storylines, but there were some amazing moments in the episode. Chiklis should win the emmy every year.

Anthony Anderson was terrific in this episode, too -- his almost hidden tears when hearing about his son, his sudden cunning when being interviewed by Shane etc. Especially since his physical range was limited and he was left to show us his thoughts with his eyes and facial expressions. Actually the whole cast did a great job tonight.

I think he mentioned a few weeks ago that he does a shift or two a month to keep his pension

From the way it was editted for a long while I was so sure Lemonhead had gotten to the body before everyone else and was merely waiting to see how far Shane would go into remorse before telling everyone that he had everything under wraps.

I have a feeling we have not seen the last of Antwon Mitchell and Vic beter not get too smug about nailing him either he still has problems with Monica and his soon to be ex-wife.

Easily one of the best episodes of this show ever.
