Eyes Canceled

I'm watching ImusInTheMorning, and Tim Daly is a guest. He just announced that Eyes was officially canceled yesterday. Too bad, I really liked that show.

Apparently, 13 episodes were filmed. So far only 5 or so have aired. I wonder if they'll show the remaining episodes sometime during the summer.

There's a fan site to try and save the show:

I hope so too. I'll never understand why networks shelve stuff live that when summer is a perfect opportunity to air such remaining episodes.

This was shaping up to be my favorite show of this season too.

Since you never saw the show, perhaps you are thinking of the lead character from Blind Justice?

Since we don't really know about whether they will show the other 8 unaired episodes, I'm holding out on the season pass until we hear.

This show looked promising, never caught it, but if they air during the summer and ratings improve, there is always a chance.

Personally, I'd rather cut my ties with the show now than watch the remaining episodes and get further involved in a show that I know is being canned. Part of me wants to watch the remaining episodes, but I've decided to go for the cold turkey route.

Not to put you all on the spot, but if the show looked interesting, why didn't you watch it? Conflicting schedules?

No shit. This is probably the kind of crap that went on with Nielsen viewers.

I really enjoyed this show. What a bummer, not that it's a huge surprise. I'm thankful so many shows I loved that premiered this past year survived, but I'm most bummed about losing Eyes and Life as we know it.

I can't speak for the others, but

1. I'm not a Nielson viewer, so what I watch really has no impact whatsoever.
2. All the people that love the show are left hanging after 5 episodes. I learned a few years back to wait until season 2 is gauranteed then I play catch up. No sense getting involved in a show that will only last a half dozen episodes.
3. When I do decide to watch a new show the first season, it just always seems the ones I do end up liking are the ones that get canned. Therefore, I wait. Lost would be the big exception this year.

My friend made the same mistake. She thought Eyes was the show about the blind guy. That's why no one watched because of the weird title.

And like I said in another thread, who the hell ever watched Jake in Progress? Apparently enough people to warrant a renewal. Put the remaining Eyes shows in its timeslot for the summer and get STAMOS off my tv.

I don't see anything weird about the title..I think it was a good and fitting title.

I wouldn't say that is true. Word of mouth always helps. You watch and like a program, tell a friend who watches, etc. Eventually, you may influence a Nielsen viewer.

It was about private investigation and surveillance - EYES. It was probably just too clever for the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition set.

That is how great the show was. Your cynical attitude doesn't promote any sort of quality programming. Truth be told, you can't even follow your own rule about 2nd seasons - because the chatter on the street about LOST was so hot that you wanted to be able to talk about it and be up to date so no one spoils anything for you. (And BTW you should start "catching up" on HOUSE and Desperate Housewives.)

Sounds like someone is mad their show is being cancelled. Well I have the majority of both(House, DH) shows on my Tivo, I just haven't had the urge to watch either yet. As for House, I don't know if I will watch it. All I read are how formulatic the episodes are and recently read (via Tvguide, not the best source, but hey) about how wrong the writers are in their hospital diagnosis, treatments, etc. They can't hire a medical consultant? My wife is a nurse so she points out everything when we watch ER, and they always nail it, I can just see her picking apart House already. So those might just get dumped.

Yeah, I liked eyes and I will be sad to see it go also. I thought it had some great characters and good storylines. Oh well...I'll keep it on my schedule of my DVR in case they decide to air the other episodes.

I never had an urge to watch Eyes, but years ago when lots of shows were premiering at once I often taped lots of them & ended up watching them later, after they were cancelled. They used to cancel sitcoms I liked all the time. Even if I knew that they would have been cancelled I still would have watched them. Didn't you ever hear it's better to have watched & lost than never to have watched at all? lol

I never got around to checking out Blind Justice either, even though I like Ron Eldard.

It got renewed? I'm happy then. I really liked it, it cracks me up.
