Why did they ruin Cheap Seats?
It was so good last year, and the absolute GENIUS of the SportsCentury of Cheap Seats had me amped for the new eps. But they completely messed up the vibe of the show - the greatness came from two dorks, all alone, cracking on old sports. Now they have a "live studio audience", complete with laugh track. Plus, they seem to have cut out a lot of the actual video for their (un)funny "bits".
Very sad development

The audience is really annoying, it makes it look even more amateurish than before.
I saw a rerun where they first had a crowd and the hosts said they begged ESPN for an audience, which may be better for them but kinda sucks on tv.

The two guys were always annoying and rarely ever funny. They tried so hard to be the MST3K of classic sports but ended up falling on their faces. Of course, just an opinion.

And your opinion is wrong, as usual.
I haven't caught the live audience episode (Tivoed), but are we sure it's permanent?
The great thing about this show is that you don't have to care about sports at all to enjoy it. I have a female friend who will not laugh at most of the great comedic things I find funny, but actually bursts out laughing during Cheap Seats, and she's about the farthest thing from a sports fan that you can be.

The show sucked to begin with and the only time the two schmucks were ever funny is when they brought back the crew of the Satelite of Love for an episode.
YES, I SAID IT, BRING IT ON BUDDY!

Oh, and before I go, the show was much better when it was called Faux Pause on Game Show Network.

Looks like they unruined it and ditched the live audience.
I'm really digging the new season so far. David Cross's guest spot was funny. And Beamy made me laugh more than he probably should have - it's just so dumb, but I cracked up.
Any idea when they'll rerun the MST3K episode? I missed it when it first aired and recorded a whole bunch of the show's weekend marathons in the meantime, but that episode never surfaced. I'm dying to see it.

ESPN has ruined every show on their air with the exception of PTI. Around the Horn was genius in it's original form with Max Kellerman. Now it's a piece of shit.
