Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Cartoon?
I was watching a Gamespot review of a Batman video game and in the background they were playing some cartoon that resembled The Dark Knight Returns. Was there some adaptation of the comic to a cartoon in the vein of Batman: The Animated Series?

It was part of an episode where some kids retell their belief on what batman is like. One segment had the ol' 60's show feel to it. another one had the DKR's batman.

An excellent episode.
I just read this at the link Jack posted. I don't remember the scene but it's funny to read about.

While the three teenagers are running around, they meet a kid named "Joel" who has long hair and is seen stroking a feather boa in a department store window with a sign that says "Schumacher". He mentions "tight rubber armor" as well as claiming the Batmobile can go up walls. This is an obvious jab at Joel Schumacher, whom many Batman fans believe to have completely ruined the Batman franchise with Batman Forever and Batman and Robin.
