How come Hurley hasn't lost an ounce of weight on "Lost"?

As for the holding back, I agree they'll probably do this. But it's going to be stupid when they do, because there will be this person that was never referenced, never important enough to talk to the majors, and never involved in any major events and is suddenly doing important things and part of the action.

It just annoys me that there's 30-odd people that are part of the community that never interact with the regulars unless there's a major event happening.
A day is 24 hours...an episode per day means we only see 45 out of 1440 minutes. take away 20 minutes for flashback.... and we see 25 minutes out of a 1440 minute day.

I understand the nature of tv casts, regulars and whatnot. But at the same time, it wouldn't hurt to include one of these random people in something eventful every once in awhile (other than simply being 'red shirts').

Same reason Claire is in great shape about 3 days after her baby was born, along with every other girl who gave birth in TV history. Or that newly born babies are never bloody and gooey. Somehow on TV they come out of the womb very clean and cute.
