Ah, that's the old Alias I remember: Sydney tearing up, or almost tearing up, getting all emotional inside as she learns that Jack was prepared to walk away from the spy biz all because he wanted to be a real dad to Sydney. I guess this is about the same time that Irina plans her own death to extract herself from this mission, and Jack's world goes wonky for him and Sydney, starting another chain of events that keeps Jack in the spy world, ironically enough.

I very much enjoyed that moment. Anyone who complains about JG's acting should watch that and see that she can nail it when she wants to.

Lost up to page 4 already and Alias isn't even half a page?

Loved seeing the "flashback" scene, it was certainly interesting to see the dynamic.

no shocker that lost gets better ratings... its pretty well documented.

anyway...

I was just thinking wth did jack rip out of his hand in the last episode if that doctor was not real... or did he really not rip anything out?

Hmmm, good point. I'm still not convinced that there wasn't a doctor.

I was home sick yesterday, and rewatched most of this season. It seems to me that Arvin Cloane is working with Elena? Do you think it was actually Elena that put the hit out on Sydney's life, or is that what they want us to believe? Does Katya know of Elena's intentions?

Looking forward to next week's show. ABC's preview says
Spoiler:
Arvin Cloane returns, and Emily Sloane also makes an appearance. It also appears Jack is healthy, good news.

Also on the ABC site, I saw this, may be old news: "I think people are going to be very excited about some of the big revelations that come at the end of this season, there are some huge surprises! People who have been fans of the show since the beginning will be very excited and surprised to see who we get to come in at the end of the season."

It seems odd to me that Jack was so open with "Laura" about his mission. Whenever he has talked about their time together, he always made it seem like she had to coax the information out of him. Sloane even seemed surprised by how forthcoming Jack was.

I find it odd that the doctor was still alive. If Jack was that open with Laura (who worked for the russians) and she heard that he was extracting someone from Russia b/c he was a US spy she would have turned that information over. I guess when that situation happend in 81 or whatever Laura never asked Jack for more details b/c she didn't think that mission was important to whatever she was trying to get out of him.

If Jack kept the info about the guy as close to the vest as Sloane said it would have blown her cover. I doubt he was worth the intel she was providing.

I agree, it was a very good episode. Loved the flashback scene.

A word to all the naysayers out there. While I agree that this season has been sub-par, I am actually getting excited again. It seems like we are headed towards good things. Keep watching folks!

I agree. The last few episodes of Alias has been very entertaining, almost as good as the first two seasons. I like how the writer fake me out with the scenes of Jack and his doctor where the doctor talked to Jack about a lot of personal stuff.

I loved Jack's hallucinations. And the "flashback" scene was well done.

I bet there is a fourth Derevko sister named "Olga".

Finally got around to watching this episode and I thought it was one of the season's best. Nice scenes between Sydney and Jack.

Couldn't have said it better myself!

According to that article, Alias was going to be on again next fall? I wonder if they planned on doing the no-repeat thing again and finish in December? Or if they were going to string it along until May? Because if they did non-stop episodes beginning in January again, I'd think she'd be ready by then? I just hope Abrams and Co. aren't forced to write her being prego into the show.
