From: Bartertown due to it having a better economy than where I really live.
I think it's clean as in the serial numbers aren't on any list
but it'd still be suspicious for Vic to have a large wad of cash like that

Depends on the circumstances. If Dutch wasn't looking for evidence and he somehow found it by accident, it would be perfectly admissible. It wouldn't really be a search at all, and even if it was considered a search, assuming no bad faith, he would be discovering it from a lawful vantage point since he had consent to be on the premises. You could characterize this as "plain view."

The legal analysis would be different if he were specifically looking for evidence. He would need a warrant based upon probable cause. However, even if he was actually conducting a search specifically looking for evidence against Vic, the doctrine of standing would screw Vic. You can only contest the admission of evidence if it was discovered in violation of your OWN 4th Amendment rights. Corrine's 4th Amendment rights would be violated, and thus the evidence would not be admissible against Corrine, but since Vic doesn't live there anymore, and since he gave that money to Corrine, the evidence would be perfectly admissible against Vic.

The standing doctrine is, in my opinion, utter B.S. It allows police to go on a rampage, violating constitutional rights left and right, and get away with it, so long as they don't use the evidence they discover against anyone who has standing to contest the admission of the evidence.

Was I the only one dreading that the episode would end with the sound of a gun shot over the credits leaving us to wonder if Vic had shot Shane or someone had shot Vic?

Absolutely great episode! Those last 5 minutes were intense. I'm having a hard time trying to decide if this season is better than the 2nd one or not. Last season, while good, just didn't feel as good to me as the first two, but this one is right up there in overall quality.

It must take some big-ass balls for the police chief to move into the neighborhood...

The Shane/Vic argument that ended last season was far more intense than this weeks, and it involved no guns or threat of violence...only hurt feelings, which makes it even more impressive.

I'm liking this season much more. It feels like there has been some definite movement in character development, while everyone is still staying true to who they are. The moment when Shane first showed up this season doing the same thing that the strike team used to always do and Vic just kind of staring on in disbelief to when Vic and Ronnie show Lem the video they have of Shane and say, "It's not about protecting Shane anymore. It's about stopping him," just knocked my socks off.

I don't know; last week was pretty intense. Then again, pretty much every scene ever with Vic and Shane is pretty intense.
