I think Rob and Amber were thinking short term and wanted to be first. Why? Who the hell knows. They might have thought Ron/Kelly would be eliminated if the yield is long enough (not sure how long it is). Hard to tell if they were aware how far behind those other teams were.
Also, just one time I want a team member who experiences the culture of an area to say "this is stupid"... instead of "wow...how beautiful, this is amazing, incredible" etc. Just thought it would be funny. |

.......Atleast Rob and Amber where there every episode for entertainment purposes. |
I am a big fan of Amber and Rob, but I wouldn't be unhappy if any of the 3 teams that are left won. Kelly has said some things that make me dislike her a lot, but I know Ron sure is very deserving, so I wouldn't hold it against their team. Why worry about some lipstick when your face is covered in blemishes? Yuck.

Another prize for Rob and Amber after placing first in this leg of the race. If I remember correctly, they have won a prize every single time that they have placed first in a leg of the race.
Finally Gretchen and Meredith got eliminated but you have to give them an A for effort. And the drama continues with Ron and Kelly... Hopefully we see a good race next week from all three teams to the finish line. |

Yielding Uchenna and Joyce would have been the best move, but then again, I guess they weren't 100% sure how far behind they were. Still, I'd have risked it if I were them.

You knew how it was going to go once 2 teams got in 90 minutes earlier. From then on, you knew U&J would be able to stave of M&G.
At least, on paper, the best 3 teams are now in the finals, and it should be a good finale next week. And yeah, R&A should have yielded U&J because it would have given M&G a chance to come in 3rd, thereby eliminating a stronger team in the final legs of the race. I fear that decision will haunt R&A come next week's episode. |
I pray that Uchenna and Joyce win the race. I can't stand Rob and Amber because they don't need another million dollars. And how many times do they need to win the prizes. Aren't they the only team who has won prizes for everytime they came in first? Another rant I have is Rob and Amber using the locals. They simply rely on the locals to do all the work. Other teams don't use the locals and are the better racers.

Rob's thinking in not yielding U & J was dead on at the time. If they did it and U & J didn't get eliminated, then R & A would've just wasted a yield. They head no idea the pit stop was next after the roadblock nor where U & J were in comparison to M & G, so they "guaranteed" themselves at least a bigger lead this leg and hopefully a bigger head start for the next leg.
Of course hindsight is 20/20... |

Anybody else who wanted to see Ron go back and try his hand at the bus driving? Something tells me he would've been at it a lot longer than he was boasting.

I think that yielding R&K was the smart thing to do. At that point, there were two levels of teams, seperated by about 1.5 hours. By yielding R&K, it put them back with the second level of teams, which should be enough to give Rob & Amber a good lead over the other surviving teams. Granted, this lead won't last because of flight times, opening times, etc, but it was definitely the best move

That was really their first major mistake of the Race so far. It could come back to bite them. They should have taken into consideration that the Baldies and geezers were well behind them and they had a chance to knock the Baldies out of the game. They were seemingly more concerned about finishing 1st. However, I give credit to the Baldies and Geezers - they did catch up to R&K at the bus challenge. Anyhow, great to see Romber kick ass. One question: how many Roadblocks has Rob now done? Has he already done 6? |

Who cares? It isn't against the rules, so they are smart to doing so. If I were running this race, I would pay people to help me. While getting help based on their fame hasn't bothered me yet, I do worry about them being in a last leg back in the US and getting help based on it. I'm hoping that they don't finish the race in the US this time. |

I think Rob made a mistake by not taking Joyce & Uchenna serious enough. Remember last week when he commented on J&U and M&G 'blind leading the blind'? I think by not using the yield on J&U in last night's episode, they have allowed J&U be in the final 3 and to win the race next week.

Anyhow, great to see Romber kick ass. One question: how many Roadblocks has Rob now done? Has he already done 6? As has already been posted, without knowing the relative positions of the two trailing teams, they used the yield the only way they realistically could have. U&J may have had an hour or two lead on the geezers, in which case the yield would have been pointless in determining the final three. Romber knew where R&K were, and they acted accordingly. They can not simply assume that there will be a bunch-up on the next leg, and their move assured them of starting the leg with a sizeable lead. It wasn't about coming in first, it was a safe move concerned with winning the whole race. And based on all of the speculation about U&J winning the race being thrown about, I am now convinced that Romber wins the Race. |
