Yep - it is the Shield's version of Revenge of the Nerds, which was a great piece of storytelling.

Yeah. Not to mention taking a beating from Vic might not be that bad.I'm going to say Dutch and Vic's soon to be ex aren't real serious about their relationship yet. If Vic lays a hand on Dutch she'll hate Vic more and push closer to Dutch.

Big gang problem in Buffalo?

Derrich 04-27-05 11:51 PM

The problem with the confiscation stuff is that it takes property when you're arrested, not convicted. So it goes against the whole innocent till proven guilty. It really should'nt hold up in court at all.

exactly, it's also a violation of teh 5th Amendment since the property is taken without a conviction

I really think Dutch is the one in the most danger.

The long-term stuff gets Vic closer and closer to the boiling point, just ready to explode. Then it's the random shit he doesn't expect--like the flashlight in the eyes--that makes him go postal. If he were to walk in on Dutch playing Daddy to his kids, look out.

I kinda lost track of all the Russians by the end of the episode. Can someone clear it up?

As far as I understand it (I've only been watching the show for all of two episodes, so if there's backstory, I don't have it), there was the main mobster guy who they were trying to get a hold of (the one that Vic accosted while the other cop was switching the recording stuff in the car). However, when the Organized Crime unit tried to bust the group of mobsters, the main one slipped away, and the planned arson was still likely to go ahead. Vic traded info with the other gangster (the one involved with the cigarettes) to get information that would lead him to the main russian guy. That's who he ended up beating up in the apartment to get the name and location of the arsonist. He then found the arsonist, dragged him to the same apartment, then set it up so that the cops would arrive and take them both away.

Yeah, the seizure laws are Draconian Link .

Mopower 04-30-05 02:06 PM

Did any of you catch all the Mancow stuff in this episode? The Mancow's Morning Madhouse sticker on the Pontiac G6 that got pulled over. And Turd, Mancow, Big Al Roker Jr, and DJ Luv Cheese were all extras in it. Mancow has a radio show in Chicago if you don't know what I'm talking about.
