Didn't they do some weird summer season and use that as a chance to re-run the whole series?

Good news (if true) about it being picked up for other season.

LorenzoL 05-14-05 07:29 AM

If this news is true, I must give Fox credit of doing the right thing in this case. God knows that they have done so many boneheaded moves in regards to their TV shows and schedules.

fleegs 05-14-05 05:53 PM

The Arrested Development main page says "Returns this SUMMER".

Since I can't find the words to express how happy I am, maybe this will do the trick:

 That chicken dance .gif is one of the best ever.

Glad to see this show will be returning. Any word on when season 2 DVD will be released?

Big Boy Laroux 05-14-05 11:05 PM

we need a gif of all the chicken dances. haven't we seen lucille's as well? i'd love to see a Buster and George Sr. chicken dance. or maybe even have michael break one out, seeing as he's always the one getting them shoved in his face.

maybe we'll get to see them on the UPCOMING SEASONS! hell yeah!

The order has already been downsized to 1 season, but it is coming back.

I saw that too, but 4 is the magic number for syndication, so I'm confident they'll get another. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Actually 100 episodes is traditionally the magic number for syndication. AD will fall short of 100 in 4 seasons if they keep doing 22 episode seasons.

I can't find any news on the shortening from 2 to 1 seasons, where did that news come from?

I dont know if quality has anything to do with it as much filling a hole in their schedule. I think Fox is the only major network that has so many new shows get cancelled abruptly there's always a hole in the week where they have to air reruns. They've been like that back when In Living Color was still on.

And I remember hating that Tim Allen Toolin Around show when it started and the last episode of the first season they aired a spot saying it was renewed for 3 more years which really pissed me off.

As for AD, I'd rather have reruns all summer then burn off new ones when very little people are watching. And a renewal is only half the battle since scheduling can kill a show rather quickly. Sunday is a prime spot but if you really want a chance at growth put it right after Idol once that starts in November.

Quick tip: I showed my friends the episode where Winkler jumps over the shark and they practically ramshackled my house looking for the Season 1 dvds.

A tried and true fromula: Fonzie + jumping a shark = ratings.

 Comedy gold.

Don't forget AD will fall even shorter of the 100 b/c of this seasons 18.

Once a show is picked up for four seasons, that is pretty much a guarantee for a fifth, even if it's just to get to episode 100.

You apparently don't watch Enterprise, do you?

Greatest news ever!

Bill Noble 05-19-05 02:29 AM

Heard it on the radio

Was in New York a couple of weeks ago and heard a showbiz roundup item that mentioned the program had been renewed for another series. Unfortunately I can't remember what station was on!

harpoonipa 05-19-05 07:59 AM

It's time to party and I think hell froze over. Fox did somthing right (not counting brining back Family Guy... but they never should have cancelled it in the first place)

Meatpants 05-19-05 08:36 AM

So AD is being moved to Mondays? What happens when 24 comes back midseason? Will AD get moved again? That's not a good idea IMO

I'm thinking it'll work like 24, only in the first half of the season: no repeats and no breaks.

Well AD is scheduled for 8. Every episode of 24 that I have watched this season has been on at 9. No conflict as far as I can see between these two shows. There is a conflict with a new show and 24 though. I guess they figure that show won't be around come January anyway.

vegasbaby 05-19-05 10:15 AM

Good show, but that Buster has to go.

He's too annoying to be funny.

Come January when 24 returns, House will be moved to the timeslot AD holds on Monday nights.
