CSI 4/21 Hollywood Brass

the gun thing makes ZERO sense. If he used the gun in a crime how/why is the gun at the club?

if you have a ccw you're not going to keep your gun at the tange, and if for somereason you do the range isn't going to let other people shoot it

and if the bullet they matched came from the display case gun it all makes even less sense

It was A gun, not THE gun. It was possible that he had several made like it.

Interesting ep. So what will happen? Will this be an instance where the culprits go free because they had too much sway in the department? I guess that was the Chinatown reference.

but they matched the bullet to the crime scene bullet, not just the eagle mark on the body, so it was the same gun. or at least the same barrel, which would still leave the same confused state

Maybe it was, but what happened to the bad guys? I guess they went free, since the individual murdered was someone who nobody really cared about.

Why is it the same gun? I thought it was evident the one on display was another show prop.

Brass's step-daughter had some nice legs and a cute heiney.

Who knew Brass had such an F'd up past in terms of failed marriage and stepping up to care for a daughter that wasn't his, but became his in time.

I am hoping this wasn't a test episode for "CSI: Hollywood".

When I saw that most of the ep. was going to be in L.A., I thought spin-off test as well. I don't know who it would star, unless Brass moves to L.A.

they matched the crime scene bullet to one from the range, either the display gun or the gun brass rented that part wasn't clear. That's what Stokes was doing the last time he was on, telling brass and warrick that it was a match to a bullet found in a gas tank, the crime scene bullet
brass said he wanted to shoot the gun that the star shoots when he's at the range

This has to be a spinoff test. There's no other reason for a story like that. They could've done the entire story in Vegas.

I think Donna Murphy could carry the other show. I thought she did a fairly good job in this episode.

Anyone else notice that the meth freak was none other than Omar from The Wire? I was waiting for him to start whistling.

Actually, Omar has had a busy week: he was just killed off the night before, after a minor stint on Alias.

If it's CSI: LA next season, count me out. How about doing something like Chicago? LA is a bit too much like Vegas.

I don't think we will find out. I took it as, the ball is in her court, she is in the position Brass was in when he turned some dirty cops in. It is her case, her jurisdiction, her city. Brass's involvement is over, so is our insight into LA.

I enjoyed it, Donna Murphy was excellent. I think they said there would be no more spin-off's for a while, possibly until one of the others gets canned.

Sounded to me like she wasn't going to have a job if she pursued the leads and evidence that Brass gave her.

I thought it was a good episode, but I doubt it was a spin-off attempt.

That show sure felt like a spinoff test. They brought in some characters including some major players in the city and established the lead investigator role. Now they just need to build a team around them.

To be honest CSI: LA sounds a lot more appealing to me than CSI:NY or CSI:Miami. LA incorporates all the good and bad of LV, NY, and Miami. The potential for awesome storylines is termendous and I think we just got a glimpse of them tonight. The high-powered lunch, the hooker, the drug dealer, the false promises of hollywood.

As an episode...I loved it. Last week they showed multiple teams, solving mutliple crimes. The very next week they focus solely on one person. That's the mark of good writing.

Perhaps CBS is looking at doing a good old fashioned cop show in LA, and they were testing the waters for that. I think they may be in the NBC L&O trap, that any cop or lawyer show on NBC better have L&O in order to be succesful.

Is there a spin-off coming that I didn't hear about.

If so, you think they'll could be more original than another crime drama based in L.A. Maybe they are just being cheap though.

That's where I recognized him from as well. Also, looks like the giant scar on his face is real. I thought it might have been fake in his Alias role.

Just a thought. Could Brass and I stay friends if I was just trying to help out his daughter financially?
Loved this episode, Brass is great. I hope that Brass is not leaving Las Vegas.

Okay, from Gilmore Girls, one of Rory's girl schoolmates turns into God on Joan of Arcadia, and the other girl schoolmate plays Brass's hooker step-daughter. Karma?

Holy Crap, I didn't even realize that was Louise.

I thought it was a good episode.

Given the tepid ratings of CSI:NY I can't see them launching a new CSI right now.

Good call! I thought that voice sounded familar. She's even hotter on CSI, but go figure considering the attire.
