What is the deal with Vaughan. They just going let him back in. Attacking agents stealing stuff and running off. However, if Sloane is behind all this maybe he would let him back in.
The part with Marshall and Jack was the best part.

I love Marshal getting tough with Jack.
I figure this Sloane is just some guy with the same last name. Big coincidence, yes? Impossible? No. It's just none too plausible. Afterall, he's a Sloane (heck, the computer listed him as A. Sloane) but not THE Sloane. I think his look was just to fool us into thinking that this is Arvin's eviler brother Alvin but we'll find out he's nothing of the sort.

Sadly, except for a few random season 1 episodes, I haven't been able to watch 24 (always had something else to do and/or watch).
I need to get my hands on the season sets if I'm ever to try to watch 24.

But I love the show either way, it's TV, I don't care if it's realistic...same goes for Alias.

I was disappointed with the abrupt end of the Vaughn story. Not sure I like the 2 Sloanes. I just hope they don't derail the momentum they had picked up from the couple of episodes before this.

Out of all of the many implausible things in the show, this is what i find hardest to believe
Just a short time ago, Sloane was the enemy of the CIA, in prison, Dixon was the Head of his CIA area. Now Sloane is the man in charge and he talks to Dixon and the others like they are shit! Even if the CIA chose to use Sloane, there is NO WAY he would suddenly have that much authority, he would be watched closely by a superior and Dixon is an ex CIA director ! the change in power just seems too ridiculous

Yeah, that bugs me too. But the weirdest part is that Sloane killed Dixon's wife and vice-versa (though in Dixon's case it was indirectly and unintentional) and yet they've only had one confrontation and it's gone nowhere. On the other hand, we had a lot of Sidney pouting and whining early this season. She's really got to learn not keep her emotions on her sleeve and be more like Spy Daddy.
I too was disappointed with how quickly they dropped the story about Vaughn's dad. This was the only time I was ever interested in Vaughn.

I don't think the writers would bring in another family member. I'm hoping that guy's just an imposter using Sloane's name to get his bidding done. Before they showed him, I actually thought it'd be Sark sitting in that chair.

I would be freakin' ecstatic if they actually killed off Sloane before the end of the season. It would be the best moment in the show since the first season.

This and 24 were my two favorite shows a season or two ago. Now I find them both seriously lacking. I am going to finish off watching the rest of the season for both, but unless there is a drastic improvement, I doubt that I will watch them again next season.

Yeah, this ep was the one where I went "Ohhhh, OK so we're jumping the shark, right here, today..."
Pretty interesting ep IF they'd had Vaughn's dad's storyline go anywhere, anywhere at all, instead of wrapping it up neatly with a "Actually, he WAS dead, my bad".
I think having that happen, then Fake-Sloan, was what I couldn't take: two "Oh PLEASE!" in one ep is too much.

Finally watched this last night and I too was bummed about the abrupt end to Vaughn's story - having his father alive would have made things interesting. As for there being two Sloan's:

You know, recently I was rewatching season three (finally got the box set) and noticed that it wasn't anywhere near as bad as I remember it. There were some nice character moments (like Weiss giving Sydney the 3rd edition of "Alice's Adventures In Wonderland") and some funny bits with Marshall (like when he slapped Sydney's ass in the casino
) and the storyline was progressing much smoother than I remembered.
But then I got to the ep where they revealed what Sydney was up to for those two years. The ep itself was good but it revealed too much mid-season and it was obvious the writters had no idea what to do next. We suddenly get evil Lauren, no seems to be able to hit anything wile firing fully automatic weapons (it was like reverse red shirt syndrome) and storylines were then added and dropped just out of contrivance (The Trust).
This season seems to be repeating the same mistakes. It started out slow, then gave us an interesting story arc (Vaughn's dad and, to a less developed extent, the scheming between Jack and Arvin) to then drop it mid-season as if nothing happened and then add some weird twists (Sloane 2.0).
I hope this pattern is intentional and J.J. Abrams is just trying to fake us out and he does have something solid in store for us. But I dunno....
