American Idol 04/12/05
Who will get kicked out tomorrow night?
|
If Anthony doesn't get booted from this or Chris from 'The Apprentice' this week... I give up. I'll quit watching "reality" TV. ;) You might say I love to hate these guys.
|
My vote goes to Scott.
|
I think the theme tonight is "A Song from the Year You Were Born", which opens it up to any genre with which they feel most comfortable.

We've got "I Didn't Mean To Turn You On" from Robert Palmer... "You Give Love a Bad Name" from Bon Jovi... "Burning Heart" from Survivor... "Sledge Hammer" from Peter Gabriel. Could be a fun night for them. |
Bo and Constantine are both 29, not 19. So 1976.
Constantine: "Silly Love Songs" (Wings) Bo: "Afternoon Delight" (Starlight Vocal Band) |
Whoops... I must have been thinking of possibilities for Trach Boy... but then again the #1 song of '86 was "That's What Friends are For." (But I'd rather he sing "Dancing on the Ceiling" so he can blow it andwe can kick him out.
Must be my age showing through. I should have known that, I'm 30 and I was born in '74... where's my head at? Wait, don't answer that. |
I think is the first time ever that I actually agree with something Paula said but Nadia did look stunning in that red dress.
However, I give her a :thmbsdwn: for the song selection. |
The problem I see with Bo is he picks really great songs, but the back up band is all wrong for them...I also agree with Simon in that the people who vote for this show have probably never heard of Freebird with the exception of that bad techno song that came out a few years ago.

I felt that Bo's performance was just okay, nothing special. Maybe I was expecting more from him tonight.
In regards to Anwar, the judges (with the exception of Paula) were right, one of his better performances since he made the final 12. |
Nadia - Horrible song choice. Could be a critical error since she's been flirting with the bottom three. She needs to do songs that have decent hooks instead of wasting her time with these ballads.
Bo - Solid but not outstanding. He hasn't torn shit up in weeks. Anwar - Snoozefest. Talk about musical wallpaper... Fed's on now... he's pretty meh so far. |
Ugh.
Everytime you go away? Time for you to go away, Anthony. |

Scott's gone.
|
Scott Savol - Comes in and states that "he's the real rocker in the competition."
Then sings Hall and Oates. Way to back that "rocker" fact up buddy... |
Fun performance by Vonzell and I'll be surprised if she end up on the bottom 3 again this week.
|
Bye Bye Scott, don't let the door hit you on your way out.
|
Scott shoulda been gone way before Nikko :thmbsdwn: Scott needs to go
|
I liked Carrie's performance and her version of "Love is a Battlefield".
|
If they make one comparison to Freddie Mercury with this horrible rendition of Bohemian Rapsody, I'm going nuclear on their buttocks.
|
Carrie and Bo were both pretty average tonight. I thought Anthony and Vonzell were the best so far. Nadia is probably gone, Simon gave her the kiss of death quite a few times.
|
WHAT THE FUCK IS PAULA ABDUL SMOKING? And can I please have some?
|
Fed - So-so. Kind of a lame song, but it suited him.
Vonzell - She's improving week-to-week. Good performance. Scott - I thought he was going to jump Simon. He's the real rocker. He deserves to be booted just for that lame-assed posturing. Carrie - Pretty good. I prefer it when she rocks a bit. This and the Heart song from a few weeks ago were, to my ears, her best performances. Goddamm, Constantine pulled it off. Best of the night. I hate to say this, but he gets better each week. He's a contender. |
I think you guys are taking Scott's comments a little too seriously. I think it was meant to be more tongue in cheek.

Constantine will win...
thats that! |
Sorry, I had to vote for Nadia. The only thing I can remember is the dress.
 to Constantine, Carrie and Bogart ( ):up: to Vonzell and Anthony  to Nadia, Anwar and Scott |
My bottom 3 are Scott, Anthony and Nadia.
|
I haven't really been a carrie fan up until now but I thought she sounded great tonight.
Consentine (as much as I can't stand him) sounded good as well. |
I do have a question about Consentine and American Idol rules...
i thought the cut-off age this year was 27??if so and BR(queen)came out in 1975 that would make Consentine 29-30? am i right? |

thanks-

Bo was just eh. He seems to be phoning it in lately.
I thought Constantine was the best of the night. Sure, he's no Freddie Mercury, but then who is? He was by far the most electric of the night. Carrie wasn't bad. The song wasn't great, but man she looked hot in those blue jeans and with her hair straightened. I didn't think Scott was that bad. I kind of agreed with Randy. It started very shaky, but he pulled it off in the end. Nadia. What the hell are you thinking? You do best when you choose songs that have zip to them. Terrible song choice, and that could be her doom this week. Anwar. Still boring as hell IMO. Trachi. A little less lounge lizard this week, but he's still a lounge lizard performer. Vonzell. Pretty good performance. She's improving each week. |
When they wheeled out those old guys ("Oat and Meal" or whatever they called themselves), I was like "Who the hell are these geezers...Starsky and Hutch?"
|
I guess I'm the only one that thought Nadia's song was OK (not great, but not as bad as everyone else said).
I thought Bo sucked hard...I'd get rid of him if it weren't for that cocky egotist Scott. Every low not was flat. Bye Scott. Carrie - not great, but I like her trying something daring, not safe like most of the others. I like her scratchy yelling voice. Sexy! And was she wearing a bra? She was quite jiggly tonight - not that I'm complaining or anything.... Vonzell - vocally OK, but I thought the song choice stunk - it felt like I was back in 1984. Anwar - OK, but still slow and OK. Constantine surprisingly did OK - I was expecting a trainwreck, but he pulled it off. |
I hate to say it, but I think Nadia is gone. She's already flirted with the bottom 3 a couple times and her song choice was terrible. She did OK, but OK won't cut it tonight I don't think. Gotta hand it to Anthony... he actually did pretty decent, albeit with a somewhat crappy song.
I still don't get all the hate for Scott. What's up with you people?!?! The freaking artist(s) that did the original song gave him a thumbs up and seemed very enthusiastic about his performance. I don't think you can get a better judgement than that. Vonzell was the best of the night, followed closely by Constantine. Bo seemed like he was sleepwalking through his song. |
