"Besides, just as with movies, TV is now all about opening big. That's why 'Eyes' executive producer John McNamara sent e-mails to critics over the weekend in a bold attempt to save his brand new show." It's hard to believe that only after two episodes, "Eyes" is already on the brink of needing to be saved, and network TV programs are basically controlled by those 1,200 Nielsen families.

And they were just gearing up for the battle between Shatner and Bergen, which I was eagerly looking forward to seeing, not to mention the other plot lines they left dangling.
I just hope that when (or should I say IF) Boston Legal gets a DVD treatment, they correct this gross error for the DVD and put the seasons back together they way they were intended.
I have not watched Gray's Anatomy and will not watch it. Sunday night has been chock full of TV to watch and I can appreciate having extra time to do other things, though I don't appreciate how the extra time came about.

I wonder if ABC honestly thinks they can do better than third on the 10 PM timeslot considering the L&O and CSI competition. The days of nurturing a critically-acclaimed TV series along in the hopes of gaining a following are long gone. No one watched Seinfeld when it was opposite Home Improvement until they moved it to Thursday. Homicide was getting its ass kicked by Nash Bridges of all shows but NBC kept it one because they felt it was the best cop show on TV (too bad they were quick on the trigger to retool -- then cancel -- Boomtown). But I guess ABC's treatment of Karen Sisco shows you where Eyes is heading.

Why is ABC seemingly cramming all its shows in the exact same time slot? Are they still trying to figure out which gets the highest ratings? This constant juggling would turn off a casual viewer, I think.

I seriously don't understand all the love for this show. Do all of you actually like those wretched sound bites they play when they want to overdo a joke? Do you think "Trix are for kids." is the height of comedy? What's with the awful lighting and horrible music in this show? Besides Spader and Shatner, this show doesn't have a single redeeming factor. There hasn't even been a single moment all season as good as any of the Spader stuff on last season's Practice.

I don't get the hate for BL - it's damn funny, and I look forward to it being on the air again. I also really like GA, so I think this decision is fine, so long as they promote BL well (not overboard like with the horrid blind justice). Here's to abc living up to their former ad campaign - "I Love TV" (Lost, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Boston Legal...tv is fun again).

Ughhhhh Grey's Anatomy sucks, I agree. I watched it and cannot stand it.
I cannot believe they are not going to air the 5 episodes left of BL until next season
Why are people watching Grey's Anatomy? They must just be people jealous of... DENNY CRANE.

What a great day. First my TIVO screws up and doesn't tape 24, and now I find out Boston Legal wont be back til September. This stinks. I'm a big fan of the show and really enjoyed it, and the extended hiatus for the past month or so has really annoyed me. If they would have told us a month ago that the last episode would be the season finale I might not be so annoyed, but since they didn't...
I'm really curious to hear what David Kelley has to say about the situation.

Oh Happy Day!
It would appear that it's moved to Tuesday nights....not as comfy and accessible as Sundays (I record and watch later in the night) vs. Tuesday when work keeps me there until late.
At any rate, no complaints - bring on all 24+ episodes! I love this show.
On a side note - I fell in love with Grey's Anatomy, even though I so wanted to hate it ;-)

THREE NEW CAST MEMBERS JOIN ABC'S "BOSTON LEGAL"
Three new cast members will be joining the cast of "Boston Legal," as the fast-paced and darkly comedic series enters its second season.
Julie Bowen ("Jake in Progress," "Ed") will play Denise Bauer a tough, smart senior associate who is on track to making partner and who won't let anything (including a messy divorce) stand in her way.
Justin Mentell will play Garrett Wells, an ambitious junior associate who sometimes has trouble recognizing when to back off.
Ryan Michelle Bathe ("ER," Showtime's "Good Fences") will portray Sara Holt, another junior associate. Sara is highly intelligent (first in her class, editor of the Law Review) but challenged when applying her book smarts to everyday law practice at Crane, Poole and Schmidt.
"Boston Legal" tells the professional and personal stories of a group of brilliant but often emotionally challenged attorneys. The series confronts social and moral issues, while its characters continually stretch the boundaries of the law.
"Boston Legal" stars James Spader as Alan Shore, Mark Valley as Brad Chase, Rene Auberjonois as Paul Lewiston, Julie Bowen as Denise Bauer, Justin Mentell as Garrett Wells and Ryan Michelle Bathe as Sara Holt, with Candice Bergen as Shirley Schmidt and William Shatner as Denny Crane.
"Boston Legal" was created by David E. Kelley. Kelley and Bill D'Elia are executive producers. The series is produced by David E. Kelley Productions in association with Twentieth Century Fox Television. It airs on Tuesday nights (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
