This show is like one of the delicious torrid page-turners of a mystery novel. If I had the DVD set of season one, I'd probably watch it all in one day.
Ken Marino cracked me up with his "serenade" of Veronica with Hall & Oates's "Private Eyes".
So the writers spent quite a bit building up Duncan being the primary suspect, so that pretty much rules him out as being Lily's murderer.

Hey, the cast will be making an appearance at Macy's on Saturday...I may actually go to this. Anyway, this makes 2 really good eps in a row...both in Mystery of the Week and arc-wise. I agree that Duncan probably isn't the murderer....unless he is, and it doesn't have anything to do with his condition.

The UPN station here in Austin was showing a baseball game tonight, and was supposed to show Veronica at 1am, but didn't!
If anybody around here is in Central Texas and gets info about when Ch 23 will show this episode, please post it.

We're getting close to the killer of Lily Kane.

Veronica was one of the popular girls in school. She was best friends with Lily Kane and dated Lily's brother. Then, Lily is murdered. Veronica's father was chief of police and he suspected Lily's father was the culprit. Unfortunately, he had no proof and since the Kane family was super rich, he was out of a job and became a P.I., with Veronica's assistance. Veronica was also shunned by the popular kids after that. A local nutcase confessed to the murder, but it was just revealed that he didn't kill her. He only said he did so his estranged daughter would get a fat payout.
By the way, the murder, the investigation, the confession and the ostracization all happened before the time of the first episode.

She had other cases to solve, while still investigating Lily's murder.
I forgot to mention that her mother disappeared due to threats made against Veronica. She just found her two weeks ago.

I agree that they are trying a little TOO hard to point to Duncan as the culprit. Kind of like when they went a little over the top to indicate the Keith might not be Veronica's dad earlier in the season. But I'm so in love with this little show that I can easily forgive a little heavy handed storytelling from time to time.
This episode was just what I've been hungry for: a big dose of the Lilly storyline. And I loved Ken Marino as the competition. Here's hoping it might be a recurring role.

I liked this episode. It is good to know that Veronica is enjoying some academic success at least with all the turmoil and tragedy that she has been through this year. Top five in her junior class that is a pretty big accomplishment. So the main suspects are the 3 Kanes and Weevil right? She said Logan had an airtight alibi. I think that they are using Duncan as a red herring unless the pull a Lost and do the obvious like they did with Boone dying. I would what Jonathan Taylor Thomas's character's purpose is? Veronica Mars and Smallville should have Taran Noah Smith on so that they would have all of Tim Taylor's kids on their show.
