Recommendations for shows like Poliakoff's "Perfect Strangers" (not the sitcom)

I just finished watching Perfect Strangers and was just blown away. Other than one irritation
Spoiler:
going back to the photographs and scenes from the past maybe a few too many times towards the end
I thought it was almost perfect tv--by far the best drama I've seen in a long, long time. I loved
Spoiler:
all the connections between the past and present and the wonderful stories behind "Archive Man's" pictures, as well how the outside family was drawn back in to the fold and how Daniel as an outsider could help them face their grief.
It was incredibly brilliant, I thought. Are Poliakoff's other shows as good, and if so which one should I get next? Are there similar British dramas out there by other writers?

Edit: Well, I looked around on Amazon uk and decided on "Shooting the Past" which hopefully isn't too similar to Perfect Strangers (both seem to feature stories caught in photographs). I'm also going to rent "The Lost Prince," which is available in the US. Still up for other British drama suggestions--I've seen a lot of Britcoms and period pieces, but I haven't watched too many serious British shows.

Mods--I wasn't sure if this was an "international dvd" type thread or a tv type thread since I'm mostly talking about the show. Please move it if I guessed wrong.
