Survivor: Palau 3/31/05

Two Survivors battle to provide for their tribe. One brings home a clam; one brings home a shark.

Sitting out a Challenge, one Survivor finds it hard to watch from the sidelines and doubts the tribe's ability to win.

A tribe member is suspicious of a potential alliance forming between two very friendly tribemates that could spoil a game plan.

During a crucial Immunity challenge, one Survivor takes over for a struggling tribemate. Will it be enough to win?

Back to Thursdays.

Well the rumor (as discussed in the last few threads) is
Spoiler:
no merge this year.
Wonder how they'll do it.

I think that rumour has been confirmed by various online sources, but it hasn't been confirmed in the show yet.

At the tribal council a couple shows ago, where the losing tribe brought a ton of stuff with them, Jeff asked "why'd you bring all that?". Their response was cause they didn't know what was going to happen, or if they'd be merging. If memory serves, Jeff said "Oh, there's not going to be a merge". While you could take that as a direct response to the statement, it was likely also a statement of fact for the season .

As for "how" they'd do it, It'd be easy to just continue the tribal battles. Even if there's only one person left in one tribe, they keep going until either there are two remaining, one from each tribe, or one entire tribe is knocked off, in which case they hold the same challenges they had planned, but for individual immunity instead of which tribe is going to the council.

How would that one person left on one tribe go to tribal council? For that matter, how would two people left go to tribal council? (they can't vote for themselves, they must then vote for the only other person, leaving a tie)

Ulong is just sad. I think they should bring back the unfairly eliminated Wanda and Jonathan and add them to Ulong.

Wanda was fairly eliminated by the annoying clause. I wouldn't doubt if they had a whole plan to have 2 extra survivors this year all the way due to not merging. Once they heard Wanda singing, they decided to change some crap up. She needed to go ASAP.

Just looking at Janu's picture there makes me want to hurl. The weakling has no business being in this competition. When I think that someone as deserving as Stephenie may have to go home while the likes of Janu and Caryn get to stay, I'm just disgusted. I know it's the nature of the game and all, but still...

they could probably have an individual immunity when it gets to two and then the loser goes home, if the last person loses the immunity challenge then they're gone and it's down to one tribe

I'd be really curious to see if they can pull something like that off (however they do it) and I think it would be a great way to make the game more interesting. The cast isn't the best, but as far as twists go this seems like an interesting season.

Is it me, or doesn't anyone else think that Tom is doing all the hard work in the challenges.

Ian is right behind him, but Tom IS his tribe.

interesting solution to my proposed question.

edit: I hope stephanie makes it at least to the final four or three. I just love how she has played thus far. who knows, if she's the only one left, she may be able to kick anyone else's ass on the other tribe!

Tom and Stephanie are all star candidates from this series, IMO.

definitely a mistake for BJ to be the caller instead of IB.

Bobby Jon says that he caught a lil black fish and is scared of sharks but then Tom says that he caught a shark. BJ gives the biggest WTF look ever

BJ did a horrendous job of calling. Either of the men should be gone.
