Bruce Campbell. Renee O'Connor.
Bad writing. Bad acting. Bad direction. Bad editing. Bad CGI.
I wonder how much they got paid to do this. Did anyone see it?

I tried, I really did, but not even Bruce the man could keep me watching this piece of garbage beyond the first twenty minutes. I just kept desperately hoping for it to get better.

It's sad to see Campbell doing a caricature of "Ash" in a cheap, poorly made SciFi Channel premier. He's got to be capable of better jobs than this (and most of his recent work)

SCIFI Orginal Series = CRAP
Its the sadest thing to watch this
channel run scifi into the ground.
The product they are supporting
and broadcasting is just horrid.
Makes 50's B movies look like
Oscar winners.
I would rather watch monkeys throwing
their fecies at the tv screen.

As for how Renee O'Connor looked... sad?

I liked it. Renee looked cute and Bruce seemed to be having fun. I stopped taking it seriously at all when I saw the fake moustaches on the bounty hunters. Out of everyone on screen, maybe 4 looked like they had any talent whatsoever. But I laughed more than once, so I have to say I enjoyed it.
Decent effects for a no-budget film, too. And since they had to pick 1 location and use it over and over and over, at least they picked a beautiful one.

I thought it was quite entertaining, as was mansquito.
You can't expect too much from the SciFi originals, just sit back and enjoy. I love b grade, tongue in cheek scifi and horror.
Here's to SciFi originals, tv shows and movies alike!!!!

I tried to record it, but only had 30 minutes left on the tape... I'll probably try to watch the whole thing next time I can catch it. I thought it was pretty bad though.
But don't knock Sc-Fi channel as a whole... their original movies aren't great, but I have thouroghly enjoyed their mini-series... and I think Battlestar Galactica is great. I got Earthsea on DVD and enjoyed it as well.

Even knowing that the film meant to be nothing more than b-movie fluff, I still couldn't watch more than 15 minutes. I kept wishing that they would have let Campbell just improvise all of his own lines, because by now he could sleepwalk through the part they gave him.

I hate to say it but I enjoyed it. I shouldn't have. It was vile, disgusting, and totally beneath Campbell (and Sci-Fi made the mistake of airing the far superior Army Of Darkness right before this) and yet I enjoyed it. Will never buy it but did enjoy it.
Is Earthsea a good blind buy? Yes, I loath Kristen Kreuk's supreme blandness but, if the movie is good, I wont care.

Like most people here, I watched the intro and had to turn it off before the first commercial break. it was horrible! as the first post mentions, bad action, bad effects, bad story. YUCK!
I don't consider The 4400 a ripoff of X-Files. I liked that series and thought it has potential. I think they ordered a second season of 13 episodes due out this summer. If you consider The 4400 a rip of the X-Files, then you must consider Smallville a rip as well. They both (the 4400 and smallville) have your weekly episode about some guy with abnormal powers that has to be dealt with in the 44 min episode. Personally, I thought the 4400 had a good progression of the storyline and caught my interest.

Sci-Fi has done just about every beast story; mosquitos, ants, spiders, octupi, rats, snakes, etc. They all do have the level of sucktitude in common. I never saw one of them worth a damn.
I wonder why Campbell never became more of a mainstream star. Sure, he's a lousy actor, but he's got a certain quality about him.

Wasn't the 4400 a USA miniseries and not a Sci-Fi original?

How many scfi original movies have the 'Alien' in the title?
