I agree. CBS is showing a lot more of the "other side" of Rob in TAR. There are a lot more winks to the camera when he pulls a Robfather stunt than they showed in Survivor. I think Survivor played up the nastier side of the game in editing. In reality (no pun intended), it's pretty clear Rob takes the game, but not himself too seriously.

Ray is showing himself to be a bigger and bigger jerk. I hope Gretchen and Meredith beat them out at some point so Ray can have a coronary.

I saw the preview for the 2 hour episode, and it looks like Ray is letting Deanna do the highwire routine. Does the guy do any Roadblocks? He made her try to eat the 4 pounds of meat, then he had her on the horse. I think he did the shoe-shine challenge, big-man.

Looks like the whiney little bitch still hasn't gotten over Rob and Amber being on TAR. From an interview with TVGuide:

TVG: Patrick, why the intense dislike for Rob and Amber?
Patrick: I hated them because I had watched them on Survivor and I just didn't like Rob on that show. When I first found out that they were going to be on the race, I was so annoyed because I love the show and I was like "Oh, my god, The Amazing Race is jumping the shark!" It sort of sucked because you knew those millionaires were going to be talking s--t about you all the time. They were going to make the game a lot uglier than it really had to be.

TVG: Speaking of that, what about Rob's actions at last week's Roadblock? Strategy or cheating?
Patrick: I don't think it was that bad that he didn't eat the meat. We all know Rob can't handle it. Of course he was going to wuss out. That's cool. I'm just glad that the two gay guys did it and Rob couldn't. And Debbie did it, too. He got beat by two gay guys and a girl! [Yet] they're giving him credit for playing the game like Survivor. It's annoying, but there are a lot of people with their noses up Rob and Amber's buttholes. But that's cool — that's what happens to media whores.

TVG: Sounds like there's still some animosity there!
Patrick: I just still don't like them. I still feel they took an opportunity away from [some other] couple who had never had that kind of experience before. And next, they're probably going to be on Wife Swap or something. I just know they're going to keep dragging this out and get 15 more minutes of fame.

Patrick's just pissy because he talked shit about Rob during the first leg, then immediately had his ass kicked (and his two long-lost girlfriends) following that single triumphant leg by everyone else on the show.

I think they took an opportunity away from another deserving team by giving a spot to Patrick and his mother.

COMPLETELY agree! From the quoted interview:

OK, I think I've figured his animosity out: it wouldn't surprise me much if Rob had made a few jokes about gays in either season of Survivor, especially All-Stars (when famously-nude Hatch was on). Rob's the kind of guy who would probably make a joke about stuff like that (not necessarily meaning to be mean, just because he made fun of everyone behind their back). Seems to me like Patrick's hatred stems from:
1)something Rob said/did on Survivor,
2)some expectation for Rob to be making fun of him (Patrick).
He also seems WAYYYYY too hopeful that he and the other gay guys will be the ones who beat Rob.

So he's got a chip on his shoulder about Rob, because (unlike all the other comptetitors, who might've said worse things than Rob, but were never interviewed on camera before this show) Rob has said things that offended Patrick LONG before this show started. Patrick is on some mission to prove that he's more manly than Rob, and failed miserably (at least on this show), and he's still pissy about it.

I saw both seasons that Rob was on, and I don't recall him ever making any sort of gay joke.

I think it actually makes sense for him to do this. Atleast if he is smart enough to do it. But he should make her do all the roadblocks while there are weaker teams on the show that will come in behind them. This way, he can do them when they are much more important. It's a risk though. She could easily screw them. Not sure if Ray is doing this or not.

You know, Rob and Amber wouldn't be winning everything if these teams weren't all so damn useless. I can't recall there ever being this many crappy teams.

He would be smart if this is why he's doing it. I don't understand why a team not in real danger of elimination would not.

The video clips on the CBS website show that Patrick also planned on quitting the challenge and taking the penalty because he didn't think Debbie would be able to finish, but he was forced to continue eating when it became obvious that she was going to do it. What a hypocrite!

I have not seen the extra clip because I don't won't to install Real Video.
How can he take the penalty after the last team had already arrived.
Wouldn't he have to take the penalty before Bianca and Debbie had arrived so he wouldn't have known how well Debbie/Bianca was going to do eating?
I remember the penalty is 4 hours after the next team has arrived (different than last season's straight 4 hour penalty for Hayden and Aaron). If all teams have arrived, Patrick could not have taken the penalty right? Anyway, they were one of the weaker teams and I was not surprised to see them go. Next week's episode looks insane !!!

What a bitchy little fancy-pants sissy-boy who deserves a nice stiff backhand to teach him to act like a man instead of whining to his all-too-forgiving mother all the time

Fixed.

The video clip with Patrick was a little confusing, but it appears that he declared that he quit and then changed his mind. It seems like he was allowed to restart after the 4 hour clock had started ticking. I'd assume that if he quit again the 4 hour clock would start over. Like I said, it was somewhat confusing so I'm not sure my interpretation is 100% correct.

LB: Are we sure its a roadblock? It could be a detour or a task for the Fast Forward? So either way, both members of a team have to do it. (As for the video, Ray could have already done the detour/task and is waiting for Deanna to finish or vice-versa.)

Update: If you click on the preview for next weeks episode on CBS.com, the description under the video answers whether the "bridge walking" is a "roadblock"/"detour" or the task to get the "fast forward".

LB...
