"....in my ass!"
"how's your stomach?" rotfl Can't wait for next week already, looks intense. |
I must have missed the How's your Stomach part - where was that?
The worst contestant this race (and maybe ever) is Deana. What a whiny little bitch. Ray is definitely over the top, but if I had to deal with her on a daily basis with her not being able to do anything (but complain), I would probably start to act like him as well. |

My wife and I were laughing so hard we thought we might wake the baby. Lynn/Alex need to shut the fuck up already. We get it. They have a severe dislike for Romber. Now take a cue from the other teams - keep quiet about it. More than happy to see the Mother and Daughter gone. Damn, he was annoying as all get out. And I had a good laugh when he got off of the horse and said that his crotch hurt - that's why you use the stirrups dumbass. But what really makes me happy is that the two teams that were overtly arrogant and doing so well the first ep had their asses kicked during the last two episodes. Ray is a bit of a prick, but Deana is a whiny little shit who has been completely worthless. Meredith is a saint for putting up w/ that voice for all these years. It's awful. |
Pretty uneventful episode but I was  everytime Ray was talking about how embarrasing it was to be stuck with Team Retirees and Team Motherboy in the bottom three and how they were a much better team and it would be a shame to come last.
Next week 2 hour episode looks good. Can't wait! |

Romber making that flight was priceless.

I dozed for a couple of minutes, so I missed that part. I PVRed it though so I will rewatch tonight with the wife.

Rob actually says
"Hey Ron, hows your stomach" and turns and walks away without waiting for an answer...typical douchbag move that I've done 1000 times |
I thought the editing was setting Ray up for a big fall, but alas it wasn't to be. He gets more unlikeable each episode.
When Lynn and Alex eventually get eliminated I'd like to see Rob doing a little victory dance around them just to rub it in. Holy canoli! Next week's preview is wild. A 2 hour treat! |
all I have to say is that Rob/Amber better make it to the final 3 teams. I am really enjoying this season and the fact they are bringing the funny. :)

FOX stayed in front at 9 p.m. with "House," 10.4/16. "The Amazing Race" posted a 7.8/12 for CBS. ABC improved some with "According to Jim," 6.1/9, and "Rodney," 5.2/8. More "Scrubs" on NBC resulted in only a 3.7/6 for the hour. "The Starlet" kept The WB in fifth, edging out a "Veronica Mars" rerun on UPN.

Wow, I actually didn't know House was doing that well.
|
Even after all the gay stuff I've been exposed to..on tv, movies, and in real life... I still crack up everytime the gay couple shout "There's the fla-a-g". Can' t help it..

Bleah.
Rob and Amber? I hate them, just their smug attitude drives me nuts. Actually, I hate anyone who has a smug attitute... What's with the arrival at the airport to get on a plane that seems to have everyone aboard? Can we just call this the Rob & Amber show, and everyone else are just idiots? I think Amazing Race needs to seriously think on what kind of "race" this is going to be from Amazing Race 8 or 9 or 10 or whatever. If you wanted "stars" who have won previously CBS' shows, do an "all-star" format of the Amazing Race, don't do it with ordinary people who want to have adventure, fun and of course a million dollars. Anyway, I was surprised this was an elimination round, four times in a row, guess they are trying to be unpredictable. And no bunching, I was wondering if the 5 hour wait for the next plane was a "penalty" for quitting last week at the 4 lbs of meat. Next week looks scary, with people crossing dangerous bridges, falling off caves, and falling into ditches. I wonder if Lynn and Alex will stop for the brothers? |

I think next weeks 2 hour episode will probably be a non elimination segment at the end of the first hour and then have an elimination leg to close out the 2nd hour.
Though Rob is pretty smug about himself, it is to the point of being very funny, and therefore he and Amber are a lot of fun to watch. Even though they don't need the $1 million, I am still rooting for them to win. And to put it in perspective, The Amazing Race last week had 12.71 million viewers and placed 12th against a very strong 'House', which was 4th with 17.32 million viewers. I remember the day when we were all worrying that they were going to cancel The Amazing Race, even though we knew that it was the best reality show on the air (along with The Mole). The behavior of the boyfriends is what turns me off most about them. Why can't they just act like the men that they are (even though they like other men) and not like the little 'drama queens' that we are seeing on the screen. Have some dignity fella's! ;) Chris |
I see people using the word smug to describe Rob. I think there is a fine line between smugness and self-confidence, but I think Rob is on the self-confidence side of that line. Ray is more smug/arrogant than Rob, with less justification. Rob seems to be entirely self-sufficient and self-confident, and as far as I am concerned there is nothing wrong with that as long as it doesn't get twisted into an evident lack of respect for the dignity of other human beings. He is playing a game, trying to win, and people find his unwavering confidence and competitiveness disconcerting.
|
Rob may be "smug"/"self-confident" but his performance in the game justifies it. So far, he and Amber have outplayed every other team.
|
Yes, you both said it better than I could! :)

Notice how Rob talked to the boat driver. He didn't yell at the guy to hurry, etc - he calmly asked the guy his name to get to know him. Then he ends up exchanging hats with the guy. He does a good job of getting people to help them. The pulls no punches with the other racers, but he seems to know how to treat the other people they encounter with respect in order to get them to do what he and Amber need.
