Hey, remember that Anthony Head Rocky Horror pick on the Buffy thread? Well, for pure campy shittiness, I've got it beat.
Wanna see something both horrific and tragic?

So I've been reading thru the pages and I noticed you skipped a review of the episode Disharmony towards the end of season 2. Did you skip a disc or just did not bother to review a few episodes?

But I finally watched a new one last night.
"Long Day's Journey" - As soon as I got to the menu I knew I was going to like this one, as IMO the hottest Buffy-verse girl is back in my sexy thief. The horrid Fred/Gunn pseudo-romance looks to be finally coming to an end as Wes seems to be more & more obvious with his affection towards Fred. Initially I wanted them to get together, but now I like Wes so much better when he is not part of the gang & on his own. The ending was pretty cool, but the Beast having some kind of control over Angel reminds me too much of the First controlling Spike. It was Angel that killed the totem guy in Gwen's hideout right?

Um, you asked a question but I'm not going to answer it. I will just say that all will be revealed soon enough.
IIRC, this is the ep that marks the beginning of the sun being blotted out. So the show will literally be pretty dark from now on. Heh.
I was glad when Gunn and Fred started to split. They never made a convincing couple. Wes has done things that dirties up his image, so I don't know how good a fit he is for Fred anymore. Though he would certainly be a more logical choice than Gunn.
The one thing I really disliked about S3 and S4 was that they started introducing soap opera elements into the show where it really hasn't existed before. I liked that everyone was friends and coworkers united against a common threat. Does everyone have to pair off and cause drama in the group? Aren't there other ways to keep things interesting? I guess not.

See, this is what I meant by the menus, and Gwen wasn't even supposed to be a surpise since she's the first thing you see in the episode. But seriously, for the rest of the forseeable season, I'd really avoid looking at the menus at all unless you want some pretty cool shit ruined for you before you even press play.

About "Long Days Journey", I'm glad Fox decided not to cut out the Glenn Quinn dedication at the end. I don't know if those sorts of things are usually left alone, or cut out of TV DVD sets, but since they usually cut the recaps, I guess you just never know what they might get rid of .

Actually I just thought of another, in one of the first Seasons of the West Wing there was a dedictation, and that too was left in on the dvds, so it seems warner bros. at least leaves them in as well. Most DVD releases I can think of have prints that are exactly those shown on television during the first airing. Even movies, such as Back to the Future Part 2 were the same, where they kept the trailer for part three in before part 2's end credits, something you would think would be useless since you can only buy the films as a trilogy, but nevertheless, that's how it was released, that's how it is on the disc.
The rediculousness of Angel's first few seasons cutting off the "previously on" is the only case I can think of where something is excised for the dvd release, and it was especially annoying in episodes where the end of the recap and the beginning of the new ep blend right into one another. Habeus Corpses is the one that always bugs me. All we get before the opening credits is Angel turning, walking into the stairwell and throwing a hissy fit. It's very disconcerting without the build up of the recap.

I only mentioned it because regardless of the show, and regardless of who the dedication/PSA is for, it would seem wrong (morally, perhaps?) if they were cut from a DVD- where they would remain preserved along with the show.

Spoiler:
As for the previously on's, none was more horrendously absent that The Gift in Buffy S5: Hundreds of split second edits from the entire series building to a powerful crescendo, totally removed from the show, which now just begins with an awkward orchestra hit. Arg@!!!!!!

Got one in Friday night, but haven't gotten around to posting about it.
"Awakening" - Great episode, I was totally fooled up until Connor came back to help Angel take out the beast. There wasn't a huge explosion that would cause everyone near by to die, & Connor was acting way to cutesy with Angel, so I knew that this was not actually happening, I figured it was a dream sequence, but this was still a really good episode & well done all around.
