Okay, I haven't seen a new Simpsons episode in a while, but I caught tonights. Question: What the hell happened to Marge's voice? Do they have someone else doing it or is the person just getting old? She sounded like a 5 pack a day smoker.

guess last week's episode was an anomaly.
I only laughed once during tonight's ep...and it might possibly be a repeat joke - the SUV/"gentle curve" thing.
oh well.

I loved Bart's Kreskin-esque envelope prediction.

Although the RV purchase has been done before, I also thought this was a pretty good episode. This season is turning out to be above average (compared to the last few, that is).

The first few minutes were the best all season, but the end with the RV couldn't have been any lamer... I didn't even bother watching the end as it was getting too pathetic for my taste.

Pretty good episode overall I thought. Homer getting thumped by the garage door and Bart's picture -
Umm, it sounds pretty much the same as it always has as far as I can tell. There may have been slight changes in the earlier years but Marge's voice is... Marge's voice. It's pretty unique and consistent. Of course, the same lady also does Marge's sisters' voices and they are smokers (maybe she is a smoker in RL?).

The garage sequence had my wife and I in tears, the rest was just amusing. (except, I've got Gameboys and caramel apples!

I agree completely. So, for the purposes of this episode, Marge & Homer are constantly on the verge of divorce?
The growing mis-characterizations on this show are beginnning to annoy me just as much as the unfunny writing.

I find the writing on this season to be far better than the past few seasons. Not that I consistently watched the show during the last few seasons, as I would just catch an episode here and there to see if it had gotten any better, and would leave the show for weeks on end because I was trying to erase from my memory what I had seen. I started to watch this season because it was the lead in show to Arrested Development, and I have stuck with the show this season because it much better. I don't think the show will ever be as great as it was during the early years, but I am betting this will be regarded as one of the better seasons of the latter years.
