Hahahahaha.....the Deperate Housewives nod in the opening scene has got me looking forward to this more than I expected. Could this thing actually be intentionally funny? More to come........

Mano 03-20-05 10:08 PM

"And heeeeere come the sharks."

TheNightFlier 03-20-05 10:57 PM

 seeing the 30 fins in the water was great

majorjoe23 03-20-05 11:11 PM

Was that Bryan Brown as the dude who did the chumming? If so, it's not on his IMDB listing.

DRG 03-20-05 11:11 PM

I wonder if they shot any "unrated" footage to insert into a potential DVD.

Anyway, I actually liked this. Just bad enough to be fun, but not so bad that I couldn't actually enjoy the movie.

MrX 03-20-05 11:17 PM

The guy who surfed right into the sharks mouth was great:lol:

I liked how people just seemed to explode when they got attacked

I thought it was too.

MrX 03-21-05 12:02 AM

It was, he was mentioned in some of the promos for this along with Kathy Baker

DeadLamb 03-21-05 12:08 AM

still an hour to go out here in the west but this is some some good B, err ok B- grade goodness!! I mean you know it's cheesy when they are not yelling "Shark!!" but "SHARKS!!" heh

I also like the really ham fisted foreshadowing they are doing for most everything.. Aww I should have been keeping a body count.. Think it's up to 7 so far..

yeah that was great...I also like the guy sitting in the inflatable beach chair in the water....he sees the chair pop underneath him then 2 seconds later the shark eats him and there's a geiser of blood shooting up.

Also, the redheads boobs seemed to be getting bigger as the show went on.

Bill Needle 03-21-05 03:10 AM

Not enough crackers in the world for this amount of cheese.

I turned it on right before that happened. It was awesome!

Did you guys know that when you are bitten by a shark, that you blow up like a geyser? Crazy!

At least it was in HD.

Yeah, either that or it was just due to the fact that more and more they became the main reason I was still watching.

pffffffffffftttttttttt!!! What else would happen to a person who has just beer bonged his body weight in cheap suds then ran around a beach in the sun?!!. All that carbonated water and so on has to go somewhere when he gets chomped by a shark!! By the time the shark gets to him, he might as well be a human can of warm beer that has been put in a paint shaker...

I mean it's just common sense backed by science that when a spring breaker is attacked by a shark the results will be a 9 foot high beer fueled explosion like this:

[sarcasm]Was this ... The O.C.'s Shannon Lucio? [/sarcasm]

CThomaski22 03-21-05 07:24 AM

best movie ever! Hot girls :eyebrow: , sharks eating drunk coeds, attempted date rape :hump: , nerdy brother that can lift 300lb turtles right out of the water, bad guy with thick accent...what more could you ask for??!!

"Don't be the boy who cried shark"

Giles 03-21-05 08:05 AM

I screamed like a little girl when that chick got pulled and eaten off the dock - that was a hoot.

I didn't know that Florida had mountains, I loved how the filmmakers did nothing to digitally remove the Californian mountains in the background in some shots.

That was rotfl. Funniest part just edging out the dude who surfed into the shark.

Then how about those incredibly fake-looking turtles the scientist brother was pulling out of the ocean. They might as well have just used the Maryland Terps mascot costume.

I thought that was amazing. It wasn't like the mountains were accidentally captured in a few of the far-off shots. It was like they were going out of their way to capture the natural beauty of Florida's rugged, mountainous coastline. I'm surprised they didn't have a volcano blowing up during the climactic "sharks attack the alcohol-sponsored pontoon dock" scene.

The only thing this movie was missing was Screech as the town mayor.

I liked how the sun set over the water.

Hey now - maybe they built this reef on the gulf coast. ;)

this was stiff competition for 10.5

Wow..... this movie made me want to buy Deep Blue Sea instead :yack:

DRG 03-21-05 10:48 AM

Wow...

ABC and CBS tied for the 9 p.m. lead as both a repeat of "Desperate Housewives" and the first hour of "Spring Break Shark Attack" did an 8.7/13. NBC was a strong third with the 8.0/12 for "Law & Order: Criminal Intent." FOX was fourth with "The Simpsons" and "Kelsey Grammer Presents: The Sketch Show," which at least outdid the 1.4/2 for The WB's "Steve Harvey's Big Time Challenge."
