The first two episodes show some potential. Not really sure if I like Rick Hoffman's character & the way that he worked his way into Jake's inner circle, but I guess it sets the stage for his character's personality. Didn't really like that they dropped Madchen Amick's character without seeing what happened after the date. We see Jake saying that she didn't like him, but we didn't get any further info about Hoffman's character and Amick. I really like Ian Gomez as well.
The music and the dialogue is very reminiscent of David E Kelly, which, to me, is not a good thing. I find that his stuff is fine in small doses, but very tiresome over an entire series. Hopefully, this won't be the case here.

Am I insane, but was this show either on, or planned and talked about YEARS ago?

I tried to like the show, although I'm not sure exactly why, but I just found the whole proceedings very blah and predictable, like something that I had seen many times before. I watched the first ep and don't think that I chuckled once through it. I started watching the second one and got as far as the opening credits before saying to myself: Do you really want to commit to watch another show, especially this one? After that, I quit watching.

I thought it was pretty boring. I turned it off sortly after the second episode started. ABC just must want to kill it off if they are putting it on Thursday night at 8. Then again, it is best to put it in a place where I will be watching something else

I just caught the first four episodes tonight & I was actually impressed. From the ads I was expecting an hour long drama, but I got a 1/2 sitcom instead. I thought it was pretty funny. It also kept me interested, otherwise I would've stopped watching after the first episode. I hate Madchen Amick (ever since I saw her on Fantasy Island), so I wasn't interested in seeing her again. I wonder if this is a gender thing. I liked the show & I'm a woman. It seems a lot of men didn't like it. Which seems strange because the main character is a womanizer. Then again, I'm a chick who reads Maxim so what do I know? I hate Survivor, like most reality shows. So that doesn't enter into my decision.
