Oh JEEZ. Daniel dies, ascends, and returns to human form again. Why even bother with that whole Daniel arc? It was totally pointless.
That said, I'm glad Pete is gone. And really, Jacob (and the Tok'ra in general) has nothing to do anymore anyway, since the Goa'uld are pretty much defeated, so it was time for him to go.
So I guess Jack will announce his retirement next episode.

Nice transition episode, even though Daniel coming back in the same way is getting old. I wonder what the focus of the series will be after Jack leaves? No Jaffa, no Replicators, few System Lords, etc.
BTW: great avatar BWG

I can't believe we are ending year 8 and this series is still puttig out some of its best work. Sadly, I can say this is the first year I have watched it with the broadcasts, so I hope it stays through 10 (at least). Even if it does not I'm sure Atlantis will have a long run as it is quickly becoming a equal and not simply an offspring. Anyway, onto the episode.
This was by far one of the best episodes the series has ever seen. Perhaps I'll have to start a tread on best SG-1 episodes. I'd say top 5 at a minimum. It was really good to get some background on the Ancients and to put their hands-off policy into some context.
Really great Sam/Jack interactions. I figured Sam would have left once she saw that lady come out (who by the way was referenced to having been on, but I do not recall her. Was that just a way to make it look like she had been around more?) Anybody else notice the beer fly out of the bottle? The scene between the two of them in the observation room said so much and really connected to all they have been through.
Hope we have not seen the last of Ball - he's rather funny. He was even surprised at Anubis' reaction and plan!
Jacob.
I had noticed we had not seen much of him as of late. Guess no more.
T wasn't getting much props this ep. Just him and Bre'Tac (sp) running around the galaxy on their ship and having conversations about Jaffa. Just as well I suppose. I really liked where T was last year and at the beginning of this year. Hope he has a 'return to form" so to speak next year.
Danie's story made for a good 70% of this episode. I knew something was fishy with that big guy! I actually through he was who he turned out o be, but half way through I had convinced myself that I was wrong. Turns out I should have stuck with my gut instinct!
How wicked of him. Looks like he and Oma are caught in eternal battle.
BTW, I do not think Daniel ascended. He was "inbtween"; hence the paper headline saying "Jackson Still Undecided". The interesting thing that we need to be asking ourselves is: If Oma was caught up with Anubis and the other's do not interfere, how is it Daneil was returned again - given that his options were death or assention - and how is it he is able to remember stuff this time.
Oh yeah. No fish in the pond!!!

I believe that one of Daniel's question/comments to Ulma(sp?) was along the lines of "I can always ascend and then choose to return to human form, right?" She says that he can make that choice but it will be the last time he will be allowed to ascend.
Thought the episode is setting up the season finale quite well.

I have never been a fan of this show. I have started watching becasue of the Atlantis/Galactica coming on afterwards. Now for the fans of this show was this 90 minutes really all that. I was disapointed.
and just for general info, who is the hot chick that dumped MacGuvyer? Was that Coaches daughter or Drews blind ex-girlfriend?

I personally think it was all that. Since you have seen the previous 7 seasons and 17 eps from this season you wouldn't get 95% of the stuff in that episode. It tied up story lines that have been going on for YEARS. Hence the title "Threads".
Looks like the Chick (Clare Carey) was in Coach as well as Judinging Amy, Point Pleasan. I see nothing about Drew Carey.
