Definitely feels like they are setting up the show for the end.

What was weird was the juxtaposition for me after watching the Sam-Meg subplot get torn up due to racial pressures, and then flipping over to American Idol, a show based on music performers, and watching how far US society had come in 40 years, where the contestants who made the final 12 were all hugging each other, and it was all about the person and their talent, not their skin color. We still got a ways to go, but you take progress as it comes, rushing it isn't the answer.
Anyhow, my jaw was on the floor at JJ's reaction when Meg brought up the idea of her and Sam dating, and it was truly painful, but also a reflection of the times in 1966.

Speaking of Nathan, his scenes w/ Henry were great (as usual).

I wasn't surprised at all about JJ's reaction. He was thinking about how it would hurt his parents and Henry, and he knew what the ramifications would be for Sam and Meg.
I always thought it would be bad to push the Sam and Meg thing - they handle so many things already. I think they dealt with it pretty well - put the feelings out there - flirtation and the realization that it just couldn't work. At least not then and there.
Nathan had some great scenes once again. He is probably my favorite character on the show.

Would they move the time that drastically, and stupidly IMO, to push for the shows finale? Seems like if they weren't thinking of the end they may have to soon. On Sunday at 8 they were fighting the likes of simpsons (different audience) and charmed. They had a very good chance of doing fine in that slot, but in their new slot they have almost zero chance of doing well against smallville and lost. I'll be sad to see the show go, if it does, moving it probably being a nail in the coffin.

This isn't a good sign:
ABC Grabs O'Grady, McClintock for Pilots
(Thursday, March 10 12:00 PM)
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) "American Dreams" star Gail O'Grady and former "A.U.S.A." regular Eddie McClintock have both landed in pilots at ABC in the network's newest round of casting. Andrew Walker, Thad Luckinbill and Stephen Dunham have found parts as well.
O'Grady will head the cast of the Alphabet's comedy "Hot Properties," about the staff of a real-estate office. Dunham ("What I Like About You") has also signed onto the project, the showbiz trade papers report. They join Nicole Sullivan ("The King of Queens") and Sofia Vergara ("Chasing Papi") in the cast.
The casting of O'Grady is a further dark cloud over "American Dreams," which NBC moved to Wednesdays for the remainder of the season in a last-ditch effort to juice ratings. She is the third member of the show's ensemble, after Rachel Boston and Will Estes, to take a pilot role this development season.
O'Grady earned an Emmy nomination for each of her three seasons on "NYPD Blue" in the mid-1990s. She also starred in the successful Lifetime movie "Sex and the Single Mom" and its sequel, which aired in February.

::sob:: Looks like it is done. The cast was great and it depicted what it was like back then (so I've been told, by my dad) very well, especially in that area. My pop said watching it was like seeing his history all over again. This season was a big shark jumper, with milo and the playboy woman leading the way. I hope Britany snow does something regularly.

What pilot is Rachel Boston filming?

I can only hope that it is the last 4 episodes of the season, not series. Hopefully, with Lost in reruns this month, AD won't take such a beating.
