Tracer Bullet 03-21-05 11:42 AM

rotfl

That is absolutely great!!!!

There's no way it's true, though.

Fok 03-21-05 11:50 AM

What they should of done is tied the last episode in with the Captain Pike take over of the Enterprise.

Shannon Nutt 03-21-05 11:52 AM

That new ending is far better than the REAL one! The folks at Universal would sue, though!

vaporware 03-21-05 11:59 AM

I've got to admit, that would be a great ending for
Spoiler:
QL
fans. But for a Trek fan that would be an abomination.

dstrauss 03-21-05 12:33 PM

Illudium Q-36, huh? Hope he doesn't blow up the Earth.

Yeah, I thought that was probably a dead give-away. ;)

I just wonder if B&B are going to forget to tell us who Future Guy is? Maybe most people don't care, or have forgotten, but when you drive a series for nearly 4 seasons based on a Temporal Cold War with Future Guy behind it: you better tell us who he is.

They aren't going to reveal it. Besides Manny Coto said it's basically over and doesn't seem to want to get back into it.

I'm glad he'll finally make it home. ;)

That's not for another 70-80 years.

Spoiler:
I actually thought with the "original spoiler" that started this thread, it would of made perfect sense for "Future Guy = Riker".

I don't curse, but that's exactly what I thought after reading the synopsis of the final episode.

This would have been interesting and completely unexpected. But I doubt that they'd ever considering drastically changing a main character by turning him into essentially a bad guy.

Spoiler:
But, is he a "bad guy" if the entire series is nothing but a holodeck simulation? Maybe Riker was running scenarios to see how the early Federation would react to events they should never of encountered? Borg, Ferengi, Mirror Universe, Xindi. Future Guy/Riker was just pushing events in such a way to see what might happen. Perhaps that gave Riker insight into dealing with things for his future? Plus, it actually makes it look like the holodeck thing was in the works (meaning: planned by B&B) all along.

Which it wasn't, of course.

Mopower 03-21-05 01:49 PM

I hope to god that that Quantum Leap ending is the real ending. That would kick all forms of ass!

Fok 03-21-05 01:58 PM

Is it me, or do you think they should somehow do a cross over with TNG or something. That's when I really find star trek cool. Its been done before, but hey if it works, why not?

Spoiler:
But the episode isn't saying that the entire series was on the Holodeck, only the specific mission shown in the episode. The mission, whatever it's about, is something Riker's watching to help him decide something. And it takes place 4 years after the previous episode.

Yeah, that wouldn't work with your update. I had said, my idea was based on the "original spoiler" that started this thread. The one that hopefully doesn't apply anymore. ;)

Oh ok. I can imagine how angry people would be if the whole series didn't take place except as a re-creation.
