And for any fence-sitters, may I present "My Life In Four Cameras" as an arguement for AD over Scrubs -- that was a dreadful episode, the sort of momentum-killer that AD has never had yet.
I totally agree. This was a tough choice, but that is one thing it boils down to for me. For example, one simple flasback on AD showed a blank screen at at the bottom read "footage not found." Personally that is more creative and funny than seeing an afro wearing JD trying to get into a hip hop club.I also agree with whomever mentioned consistency. Every character on AD shines and is consistently funny, the running gags are even better. On Scrubs, Cox and the Janitor are the only truly consistent funnymen, while everyone else has their moments.
Last thing is the sheer volume of jokes on AD. They come at you so fast and frequent a second viewing is almost required to catch them all. There are jokes going on in the background, subtle shots here and there, I just think you get twice as much funny on AD.
But don't get me wrong, I love Scrubs. Cox is one of the best characters on tv right now.
BTW, anyone catch the couple of articles on AD in the new TV guide? They had a couple short pieces and a Cheers to Martin Short for his appearance on AD. One of the pieces mentioned that they are going to have Barry(aka the Fonz) "jump the shark," on an upcoming episode.

it has to be "Scrubs". "Arrested Development" is a fine show, but "Scrubs" has the funny and the emotion to carry it for a long time. It is the natural successor to "Friends" and should be treated as such.

This is like choosing between your children. I would have to go with AD, but it was a very close call.
