One tribe relaxes after winning a Challenge, which annoys a tribemate frustrated with the lack of a work ethic.

A war of words erupts between two tribe members as one lays into the other for being bossy.

Just as a Challenge is set to begin, one tribe faces a setback when a member suffers an injury. Will this affect their ability to compete?

Two fearless castaways take it upon themselves to confront some deadly creatures on the island.

Any guesses on who is going home tonight?

mosquitobite 03-03-05 06:20 PM

Caryn is my bet.

Maxflier 03-03-05 06:45 PM

My guess would be Willard.
But as always i hope it is Coby.

Definitely. She owned that pretty boy.

zuckuss 03-03-05 07:39 PM

Was Coby giving birth in the water or what? :)

I'd say Stephenie is the most valuable female, especially after the immunity challenge. They didn't win,but she was the only woman who could actually stay in there.

Patman 03-03-05 07:55 PM

Too bad about the ankle, that really killed that tribe's chances in the immunity challenge.

I thought the same thing

also, Tom is an animal...it just shows you how hardcore firefighters are

Patman 03-03-05 08:35 PM

Yeah, but Tom's a goner once the tribes merge and he loses an immunity challenge.

Hush yer mouth.

das Monkey 03-03-05 08:55 PM

I can't say I'm overly interested in the people right now, but damn, these have been some of the best challenges ever on the show.

Steph continues her climb to the top of my all time favorite female Survivor chick list.

hotaru_san 03-03-05 09:10 PM

those were some nasty challenges  I wonder how long the immunity challenge actually lasted. It seems like it must have been fairly long since the tide was noticably coming in.

Patman 03-03-05 09:57 PM

Yeah, Steph's awesome in the early goings. Can Kim last another immunity council?

Agreed. I can't remember another female who did as well as her, especially in the initial stages. I also have plenty of respect for Bobby Jon. Not only did he almost single handedly keep his team in the challenge, but he also gave credit where credit was due. He definitely moved up my list after tonight's episode.

I couldn't believe Probst didn't mention how long they had been out there. I was really curious after they did that time-lapse sky shot. That was such a great challenge. It did an excellent job in combining strength, speed, endurance, and strategy.

I thought it was hilarious when Kim said her tribe was becoming the type to vote out the weakest. Besides the obvious fact that there's nothing wrong with that, there'd only been 2 tribal councils and in the first one they voted out one of their strongest players.

Bill Needle 03-03-05 10:41 PM

Good episode. Two great challenges. Unfortunate "turn" of events (re the ankle). Kim stands at the end of the plank another week. And Tom...wow. That's two phsical challenges so far that he has won almost single-handedly. And in the first challenge -- which they also won -- it was Tom that the others deferred to in deciding to only take the fire making box. There's at least half a dozen (if not more) people between both tribes that would follow that guy into hell with a bucket of gasoline right now. He may be safe after merger as well.

Nosebleed 03-03-05 10:55 PM

I played a drinking game tonight while watching this show. Everytime Angie's nipples pop out of her bra, you take a shot. We got pretty wasted.

Big Boy Laroux 03-03-05 11:22 PM

you know tom has carried heavier stuff than that in his training. he may not look ripped, but he's got that old man strength. plus he's another guy that shows that strength has nothing to do with big, pretty muscles (a la rupert).

i really like ian. he's got that funny, dorky personality. i loved how he jumped on ibrehem at the end. you could tell he wanted to tackle him, then backed off after he thought better of it.

yeah, stephanie stayed in the challenege, but it actually hurt them in the end. koror had all bags divided among 3 players. ulong had 2 people with the majority, and stephanie had one. so she didn't really help them at all.

as for the snakes... all i kept saying was, "stupid, stupid, stupid."

She didn't really hurt them either, though. Ibrehem was completely out of energy. Even if Stephanie had dropped out, Ibrehem would have held them back.

Josh-da-man 03-04-05 02:03 AM

That immunity challenge was awesome. No more of that balance-beam crap this year, baby!

I would've loved to have taken part in that. I'm a pack mule, and could've kicked some serious ass.

A couple of things....

1. Greg was outnumbered 2-1 cuz Janu was pretty much done after her initial dunking.

2. Greg really isnt that pretty haha.

runner001 03-04-05 06:47 AM

I really, really like steph. Does anyone know what her background is (I mean interms of race)?

The immunity challenge I agree was one of the better ones they've had in a while. It looked like a lot of people dropped out quickly but we can't really tell for sure since they didn't give us a clock.

I think Caryn went out immediately cause she can't even hold up 20 lbs. That simply amazes me.

movieking 03-04-05 07:36 AM

I know a few girls that wouldn't be able to hold 20 lbs. Not that surprising.

Red Dog 03-04-05 07:54 AM

The Palau challenges have been awesome.

I'm sure they'd find a way to hold a 20lb shopping bag full of designer shoes/clothes/insert stereotypical feminine weakness item.

Know any that would go on survivor? By the way, don't send those girls my way. They wouldn't be able to hold up my kack. :hump:

Rupert had big, pretty muscles? Are we talking about the same person? Agreed about the "old man strength" though. It's the strength that comes from living and working rather than pumping iron. I would argue that Rupert had that same kind of strength.

I disagree about your views of Steph's input in the challenge. In an endurance challenge like that, any weight you can keep off someone else is a huge help. Steph may have only been carrying 20 pounds, but that was 20 pounds someone else didn't have to carry as long as held in there, and over the long haul, an extra 20 pounds becomes VERY important.

I think you just misinterpreted what he said,he means that Rupert was strong without big pretty muscles just like the Tom.

Ah, I see. Damn misplaced modifiers. :)

cdollaz 03-04-05 08:48 AM

Stephanie reminds of the episode of Seinfeld where they painted the eyebrows on Uncle Leo. She might be attractive otherwise, but those brows look like little creatures crawling up out of her eyes.

BDLOU 03-04-05 08:52 AM

Also, I think Koror should have had to play with all their members in this immunity. They have more people so they should have to carry more weight. It's not a penalty in this case. I think they need to make all immunity challenge's the type where all members compete because one tribe always gets on a winning streak. The tribe with more people can always sit weak players and are able to have a better tribe competing. I know they have to swap around who they sit between challenges but it's still a huge advantage.

I disagree. It's a benefit of winning. Besides, since the rotate, the strong players will eventually have to sit out.

The benefit of winning is getting the reward or not having to go to tribal council. They don't rotate. The only stipulation is a person can't sit out on back to back challenges. This just means the same weak people sit out on a rotation. If it is supposed to be a benefit then all their members should get to participate in every challenge. Even ones where they would get a huge advantage by having more people.

Big Boy Laroux 03-04-05 09:01 AM

right, i was never implying that steph was hurting the tribe in the challenge, just that she actually was not as big an asset as some seem to think. if it had been jeff in there, without the hurt ankle, he would have been able to carry more weight, and take it away from ibrehem and bobby jon.

and yeah, that is what i was implying about rupert (that he was strong without the pretty muscles). sorry if it was confusing. another example of the strength through living are the techniques tom and rupert used in all strength challenges. relying on their legs (and in rupert's case, his body weight) rather than arms. just smart. i remember how osten was all pumped up in that season, but rupert made him look like a baby. the same will be said this year about tom vs. the pretty boys.
