New TV Guide: CSI cover

Got the new TV Guide delivered today (naturally via free sub) and checked out the cover which features CSI cast members Dourdan, Eads, and Helgenberger.
What on earth did they do with the photo of Marg Helgenberger?!?
There is more artwork done on that pic then there is on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.
Now I happen to think that she is a very attractive woman, but she is not 25 as this cover pic would have us believe. And she should not be made out to look 20 years younger then she is.

I noticed that too. She almost looks like Denise Richards in that shot. They definitely airbrushed out about 15 years of her life. It doesn't look right.

Wow! That's just creepy. Is there anyone who actually thinks that looks good? It's like a RealDoll.

She doesn't look at all real in that picture. Too bad, she usually looks pretty hot.

NYPD Blue is ending its run next Tuesday and Sipowicz and crew don't even get the cover. No justice whats so ever! That CSI cover (and a "fake" one at that) could have waited another week.

Thumbs down to TV Guide.

I thought it was a comic-artsy-style picture, done on purpose. Not sure what they were going for, perhaps CSI the comic book? CSI: The toilet paper?

Pretty big season finale news

http://tv.yahoo.com/news/va/20050224/110923699600.html

Tarantino Bloodying 'CSI' Team
Thursday February 24 1:23 AM ET

Call it "Kill Gil."

Quentin Tarantino has signed to direct the season-finale episode of primetime's most-watched series, CBS' "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."

Tarantino also has come up with an original story for the episode, which is expected to shoot in early April and air May 19, according to "CSI" executive producer Carol Mendelsohn.

Tarantino has long been a fan of the stylish forensic drama as series creator/executive producer Anthony Zuiker learned when he bumped into Tarantino at an awards show during "CSI's" first season. They have pursued him to direct an episode for some time, and after members of the "CSI" crew ran into Tarantino a few weeks ago while the show was doing some location shooting in Las Vegas, the stars finally aligned for him to helm the show's fifth-season closer, Mendelsohn said.

"He knows everything there is to know about 'CSI,' and he is into the whole mythology of 'CSI,"' Mendelsohn said. "Quentin came in a couple of weeks ago. We had a story meeting with the writers. He had a great idea, and it was so much fun to have him in the room. . . . We are positively giddy."

Zuiker, in particular, "worships Quentin," she added.

Mendelsohn said the story will involve a plot that finds one of the key members of the CSI team, led by Gil Grissom (William Petersen), in serious jeopardy.

"There will be more bugs and blood this time," Mendelsohn joked.

Tarantino, who earned an Oscar for co-writing the screenplay to his 1994 smash "Pulp Fiction," directed a 1995 episode of "ER" and appeared as a guest actor on ABC's "Alias" in 2002 and last year. His other features include the "Kill Bill" films, "Jackie Brown" and "Reservoir Dogs."

There is a mythology to C.S.I.? Yeah, I don't think so.

Is Peterson still signing off at the end of this season? Or has the fresher story lines persuaded him to stay? Anyone?

I remember a while back Q was wanting to direct some drama I watched (can't remember which one, maybe The X Files). Anyway, there was some sort of a conflict with the DGA that got him into trouble after the ER episode and prohibited him from doing any more TV. Guess that got worked out.

edit : Looked online and guess I was right, but I couldn't find any more info.

"The director is not a stranger to television. His directing credits include an episode of ER; he was also planning to direct an episode of The X-Files, but the deal didn't go through due to problems with the Directors' Guild. Tarantino has appeared as a guest-star on ABC's Alias as well."

Looks like they tried to make her resemble Jessica Simpson. Looks weird indeed.

I was just about to start a thread about this cover, but someone beat me to it!

That cover is nuts... it doesn't even make any sense, since she's a damn_attractive woman. I don't know what they were thinking.

(Good point about NYPD Blue too. Boo to TV Guide.)

Maybe they are just trying to sex her up a bit since they'll be playing the office romance card soon.

I just saw Helgenberger on one of those Hollywood news shows. They were doing a report on the show that just aired showing Hollywood types without makeup including her.

She said the paparazzi follow her around even when she's picking up her dog's shit.

She asked if the stars could sue TV for showing them without makeup.
