There's a quicktime trailer for the show here:

Also, I just did a search for 'Buzz Bunny' on Google. 90% of them are for sex toys. Apparently, 'Buzz Bunny' is the name of a popular clitoral stimulator. Way to go, WB!!!!

Man it's gonna be bad when little kids start watching the show and search Buzz Bunny. Parents are going to be happy about this.

Another show that the WB is doing is Coconut Fred’s Fruit Salad Island... looks a like a rotten version of Sponge Bob.

^Damn cartoons suck so bad now. The 80's and early 90's were the best. Now they seem so cheap.

Snowmaker 02-18-05 05:20 PM

What about Elmer, Porky, Yosemite Sam, Foghorn Leghorn, Sylvester, Tweety, etc?

Well, it looks like it's a superhero team made up of the six main people. They'll probably update some of the ones you listed as supervillians and then some of the others might be ancillary characters or something.

Big Boy Laroux 02-18-05 05:51 PM

so it's Duck, Slick, Roadster, Lexi Bunny, Spaz, and Buzz Bunny. the promo isn't that bad. if you think of it as a brand new series, rather than an update.

I'm just going to pretend this show doesn't exist and keep my fond childhood memories of watching the original Looney Tunes characters fresh by watching some of my Golden Collection dvd set.

Jimmy Kimmel mentioned the Loonatics on his show and said they're reserving a spot in hell for Sander Schwartz, the president of WB animation and the guy who greenlit this. They showed an interview with Schwartz and he was talking about how "hip and cool" this modern version was going to be. Kimmel goes "this guy knows hip and cool about as much as Ryan Seacrest"

These guys need to lay off this 'reimaging' crap. If they wanna do superheroes just stick with the DC comics characters. More Batman, Superman and Justice League please.

Snowmaker 02-19-05 10:09 AM

Well, the concept of modernizing the characters worked before. Tiny Toon Adventures anyone?

At least that show still kept the same type of humor and look though.

Chaos 02-19-05 03:55 PM

you're forgetting how much porn Tiny Toons genereated over the web
(as to how I know this: it's amazing what you can find when you accidentally mispell a word or two in a search bar)

Wow, this looks awful.

I'm not sure why, but that coconut makes me think of the sponge monkey things from last year's Quizno's commercials...

But it has also horribly failed, like with Baby Looney Tunes on Cartoon Network, and don't forget that movie, Looney Tunes: Back in Action, the one that bombed, like this new show will!!!

Goldberg74 04-27-05 10:42 PM

A softer, gentler Loonatics is on the horizon, thanks to some kid with too much time his hands...

That was with different characters, though, with the old characters making cameos as teachers. So that gave the new generation of kids new characters. I think people would be a lot less upset about this if they didn't claim that these were "the same characters for a new generation" or whatever nonsense they came up with. Even stuff like Tazmania and Duck Dodgers kept the characters intact.

While the kid and his petition make for a nice story, and great publicity for WB after screwing up this announcement, we all know the real reason for the changes was the public outcry which they clearly weren't expecting.

What I find ironic is that whatever they do with the characters today, bugs and co. will probably be less "edgy" than they originally were anyway. Bugs wasn't some goody-two-shoes Mickey Mouse character in the old cartoons, he was a prankster, brash, irreverant, someone who enjoyed ticking people off for little or no reason. He wasn't a role model for kids, in fact, he's probably exactly the opposite. These guys will be watered down superheroes...

caligulathegod 04-30-05 10:41 AM

Woody Woodpecker was a prankster, brash, irreverant, someone who enjoyed ticking people off for little or no reason. Bugs usually was driven to it ("Of course you realize this means war.")

I lasted barely 10 minutes with the pilot on Saturday. Just as bad as everyone was expecting. Did anybody watch it?

ChrisHicks 09-22-05 09:33 AM

damn, I didn't even know this started. guess that was a good thing?

Morf 09-22-05 09:36 AM

I set my TiVo to record it, but when I went to go watch it, it said recording failed unexpectedly.

I'll watch the next episode out of morbid curiousity.

A TV show so bad that TiVo refused to record it! I'd call it a sign..... ;)
