Mythbusters 2/16

glad to finally see that hollywood BS put down
12 guage barely knocked the pig and buster off the holder and that was because they put the hook as close to falling off on its own as they could with it still able to support the weight

That chinese water torture thing was freaky. I'd go nuts in no time.

It sure seemed to me it was waaay more about being in the restraints than having anything to do with the water. I think Adam's "ho-hum" reaction to the water was far more believeable, but he wasn't in the restraints. I mean, come on, Kari was freaking out while laying around for 90 minutes with a couple of friends in her workplace while surrounded by EMTs because some drips landed on her head? Gimme a break.

I didn't see this episode, but on the Ron and Fez radio show they had a friend of theirs (Crazy Jen) do the water torture bit, and she was confident she could get through it. She couldn't take it after I think 20 mintues. Water was dripping into her eyes, and she developed a pretty bad headache and I think even had a little bump. I believe she was restrained aswell.

I dare everyone to it.

Well, as I said Adam did it on the show as well, for I believe it was 3 or 4 hours. He fell asleep, or nearly asleep, and laughed about the whole thing. But he wasn't restrained.

Well, like they said on the episode, it's not so much the water by itself, but being in a hostile environment, restrained, and then you've got water dripping on you.

Have you ever had somebody who's specifically trying to annoy you by just lightly poking you repeatedly or anything? Sure, in small doses, you can ignore it, but it eventually starts to bug you. I imagine that the water torture works along similar lines.

it's definitely the being restrained part that is the main reason for losing it
