This show is somewhat representative of my experience with women. You have two beautiful ladies, Number Six and Boomer, who happen to actually be agents for a species that is hunting down and exterminating humanity. Ah well, at last Starbuck is human. Looking forward to the next episode.

regent 02-11-05 04:50 PM

four hours to go

Dr. DVD 02-11-05 09:17 PM

I have a feeling that after it is revealed that the cylons look human, we will be getting some allegorical eps. for the McCarthy era. Hey, cylons have that red eye glow don't they?

Dr. DVD 02-11-05 09:59 PM

Uh...wow!!! Adama is one hard ass of a man! Whatever shortcomings last week had, this one more than made up for it and belted one out of the park.

Now for next week:
Spoiler:
How will Adama start to see #6?

JesseCuster 02-11-05 10:07 PM

Wow..so Adama and #6 are gonna knock boots? Didn't see that one coming. Really.

I'm sad to say that I've only caught about 3 out of the 6 episodes. What are the Caprica scenes about? I know who the crewman is and why he was left behind from the mini-series but I guess I'm not seeing where they're going with that story tangent. The fleet's long gone and even if he did make it back, Boomer's physical duplicity would reveal her as a cylon.

BTW...MORE KATIEBUCK!!!!

there's at least one physical copy of that cylon model in the fleet. she's real. which causes baltar to have even more mind trips

Cartload 02-11-05 10:40 PM

This episode reminded me a lot of "The Drumhead" from season 4 of Star Trek: The Next Generation. All this show did was give me another reason not to like Chief Tyrol. Where the heck was Apollo?

Looks like Galactica's only hope is have all the men turn gay.

Get your hands off me, you evil cylon seductress!

Yeah, when I first saw this a few months ago, I thought it definitely had a lot of similarities with "The Drumhead".

Explosion on board ship leads to investigation leads to hearings on board the ship with the crew leads to captain interrogation by overzealous investigator leads to investigator verbally attacking the captain.

Dr. DVD 02-12-05 08:56 AM

In a way, this show seems to be taking the route of making the fleet be an allegory for America in its post-war years (or maybe post 9/11, the time periods are starting to become startlingly similar now). Like the days of old, science fiction is being used to address important issues.

weird. they showed me a clip from the last show that i don't remember seeing......them putting the cylon in a holding type cell....freaked me out.

do not remember that from a previous episode.....??

mikehunt 02-12-05 10:33 PM

it was from the miniseries I think

and they knew he was cylon? dang....i hvae a terrible memory. :(

Shannon Nutt 02-13-05 08:54 PM

"The Drumhead" wasn't the first hour of epsidodic TV to address McCarthyism-type trials. So it's kind of unfair to say that BG ripped off that episode, since that TNG episode wasn't very original itself.

Ranger 02-13-05 09:04 PM

Spoiler:
seriously, number six and starbuck get in a fight in 13?

Ttiberius 02-13-05 09:22 PM

^^^^^ They sure do :)

They were "pretty sure" he was a cylon,They left him sitting at that station where they re-armed.Remember at the very end of the mini-series,he was sitting there & multiple copies of him & the other cylons blasted through the door & walked up to him.

klandersen 02-13-05 09:52 PM

If I remember correctly they had reasons to believe he was a cylon, but I'm not sure if he really was one.

Umm ,You mean after all the other cylons, including multiple copies of himself ,calmly walked in & started talking to him ,you're still not sure if he really was one????

Seriously though ,I don't think there is a "Real Human" version of any of the cylon copies.

Cusm 02-14-05 08:47 AM

What is up with Baltar? Is he just metally screwed up from destroying his entire civilization, and as said 6 is his brain trying to help the rest of civilization while hiuding his past, or is she trying to finish destroying it? Or did the Cylons implant a Harvey type chip in his head that has him doing their work?
I thought it was the first, but some of the stuff that 6 is suggesting makes me wonder if she is simply his guilt and subconscience trying to cover up his deed.

Please give us a hint when your spoiler is going to be from a much later episode, instead of the regular next episode spoilers.

latenight 02-14-05 09:28 AM

Is (Caprica Boomer) tyring to become impregnated by Helo. Is this the "big plan"?

I was not even aware Appolo missed this episode. What a forgettable character.

mikehunt 02-14-05 11:13 AM

caprica boomer, pretty big spoiler for later episodes
Spoiler:
she claims to be pregnant in one of the last episodes, either 12 or 13 after heilo finds out what she is and is about to blow her head off

runner001 02-14-05 01:25 PM

I just got into this series. can someone straighten me out...
===================
there is an original series (back in the 70s) called Battlestar Galactica

there is a new mini-series with the same title

there is a new regular series with the same title
===============
do i have that right? if so, i think i missed the mini-series (unless that's what they are playing on Sci-Fi right now).

Correct. The mini-series is already on DVD and it's also being played on UniversalHD this Sunday night, if you have that channel.

runner001 02-14-05 01:35 PM

no idea what UniversalHD is so i guess i don't have that channel. so is the mini-series just a remake of the original? meaning, is it the same exact story but with different actors or is it the same basic premise but with different adventures?

UniversalHD is available on DirecTV for sure, I don't know about other places. But, only if you have the High Def package and an HDTV.

The mini-series and series are very loosely based on the original. It's not a continuation, sequel, or remake. Just a "reimagining". Same basic premise: but with different adventures, different actors (well, other than having Richard Hatch guest-star as somebody completely different), and different types of Cylons. :)

The 2 part Mini-series is the Pilot for the new ongoing series ,Its loosely based on the old original show but totally "re-imaged" ,& a very good character based, dramatic sci-fi series IMo
