I loved how Phil pointed out how hard it will be for Rebecca/Butt-Ass to get money in Shanghai. Now that I think about it - great place for a non-elim leg!
One thing I wish this show would do occasionally is show a clock of how far along certain teams are into their respective legs of race.

That was pretty damned funny, but the freak actually had a pretty good come back for once. He responded with something like, "I'd prefer if you called me that (ass)."
Why do I find Hayden so attractive? I don't get it.

Wow, this season included the only 2 places I've been outside the usa- senegal and china!
Fun episode to watch. When I was in Shanghai in 1996 for the first part of a school trip, the entire city seemed like it was under construction. It was miserable. It looked much nicer in this episode.

no surprise with the non-elim, however the communication barrier was pretty large in this episode. One of the places where it seemed to be most of the issue.
Cab Drivers also not helpful.
I can already feel the stress building for the finale

We watched the last half of the episode in bed, and I actually woke my wife up laughing. I cracked up when Kris was going to the Tai-chi people asking "Do you have a clue??? Do you have a clue???"
It struck me as really funny when she was doing it.
As was expected, it was a non-elimination round. There is one thing that troubles me about the previews for next week:

What was up with the taxis not picking any teams up? At the time, they all seemed to imply that they were being discriminated against, but then after the left that particular challenge, they all got cabs quickly (or seemingly so), and someone said in a voiceover that it was because it was not rush hour anymore (maybe Freddy?).
What does rush hour have to do with cabs stopping and refusing to pick up the racers? I think that it might have more to do with the camera crew than the racers, but who knows for sure...

Could have had to do with the distance they wanted to go. The cabs probably generate more money for a bunch of short trips rather than one long one. Especially in rush hour. At least, that was my take on it.

It could just be that maybe the taxis cant pick up fares cold on the street, maybe theyre on call or something, not like they could be understood anyway if they offered a reason why.

And she doesn't mind showing them off.
Makeup does her wonders too, judging by that picture posted of her in a previous thread.

The Amazing Racist probably has the best rack among the final 4 teams.
I think the problem with the taxis were that the taxis were probably going to pick someone up when the teams would get in front of the taxis or hail them down to stop.

pinata's probably right -- the taxis all stopped, found out where the Racers wanted to go, and said no. The cabbies knew this would be a long trip across town in rush hour traffic, and would rather have picked up fares with several short trips in that same time period.

Yep. Those taxi drivers were quite the capitalists, even in Red China.

I loved it when Kris lost her temper: "Dude, you suck." At that point, even Adam was making fun of them!
Kudos to Adam, BTW, for being the only team member with the forsight of arranging a cab as his partner was making her decent. They also pointed out that he's done more roadblocks than Rebecca.
