The Simpsons - 1/23

I thought this was supposed to be a new Simpsons, but I can swear I've seen this one already

This is a rerun, as was listed in all of the guides that I have seen.

Seems kind of odd to have a repeat of the Simpsons and a new AD.

Fox does that alot. New Malcom and AD tonight, but reruns of Simpsons and an airing of Family Guy.

One thing I noticed about Simpsons (and they've done this for years) is they advertise the bulk of the episode storyline one way for new episodes and then pick-up on one of the subplots for the repeat. That way, it appears new when it really isn't. Most Simpsons seem to start one way and take a 90 degree turn early in the episode.

Example: the family goes to the Springfield swap and then finds a Be Sharp album. (I've been rewatching Season 5 on DVD )

Between not starting new eps until after Halloween, and all the bumps and in-season repeats, what is there these days, about 10 or 12 new eps each season? Maybe this is their idea of how to get the DVD season sets out quicker--progressively shorter seasons.
