So far I am not very thrilled with Alias this year. Where is the story? Where are the cliffhangers? There isn't anything new we have not seen before. These stand alone episodes suck and next week looks to be another stand alone too. I did like her comment about it must be the rave for evil geniouses to go legitimate towards Sloan that was funny. I wish Sloan would go back to his old tricks. The show just sucks so far without any story.

My other observation, anyone else think whoever came up with this plot is a Kurt Vonnegut fan?
Absolutely, I thought of Ice-9 immediately.

I noticed the mirror pic and pointed it out to my wife, who said "only you would notice that." I replied "no way, there will be a bunch of posts about it at DVD talk when I look at that thread." The otters did not disappoint.

Unless I'm mistaken, when Weiss was leaving after giving Marshall a hard time about hitting on Nadia, he mouthed "you're married!" to him. (At least I think that's what he said ).

Reportedly, the season will start out with standalone episodes in order to attract new viewers. Later this year, they'll begin some sort of arc. Whether that means they'll return to the cliffhanger format of Seasons 1 and 2 remains to be seen.

So when are we going to find out what the hell happened between seasons 3 and 4? Or did I miss a few episodes? What happened to Sloane and Nadia after they went off to get the Rembaldi thing. Why is Sloane now working for the CIA? What happened to Sydney's mom and why did Jack have to kill her? Why is Dixon working with Sloane? Did they just forget about everything in season 3 and just decided to start over on season 4 or what?

So Weiss finds out about APO so they figured they may as well let him in? Is that all it takes to join black ops these days?

I don't think Marshall was intentionally hitting on Nadia--he was just being Marshall. But it's pretty funny to see Weiss all jealous.

That said, Marshall & Weiss are about the only things that still keep me interested in this show.

Those pictures didn't even look like Lena Olin. It really sucks that they couldn't at least get her back for some cameos.

Pretty good episode. The opening sequence with the comedy of errors by the seller was great.

ABC moved into the lead at 9 p.m. with "Alias," 8.7/13. "The King of Queens" and "Center of the Universe" averaged 7.6/11 for CBS, beating the 7.3/11 for "The West Wing" on NBC. The premiere of "Point Pleasant" on FOX, 7.0/11, lost more than half the "Idol" audience, but that's not out of line with what other shows have done in the post-"AI" slot. UPN's "Kevin Hill" and The WB's "Big Man on Campus" tied for fifth.

Wow, thats nice to see Alias finally take its time slot. Hopefully it will continue to do well, and fox won't move Idol to 9:00.

EXACTLY. The reason this show is cool was the cliffhangers. I've been disappointed.

Let's see what I remember (although its only been a few weeks). Sloane and Nadia traded whatever they got from their Rambaldi expedition in exchange for Sloane running this Black Ops CIA thingy. Not much more was said about it. Sloane helped pick his new "team", which included Sydney, Jack, Vaughn, and Dixon. Nadia and Marshall were added later. And then Weiss apparently.

Sydney's mom hired an assassin to kill Sydney, so Jack had her whacked. Absent a paying client, the assassin did not fulfill his contract. The information in the files from the end of Season 3 was that Jack had killed Irina. This certainly appeared to be a change from where they were going with the whole end of Season 3, but who knows? Season 4 certainly appears to be another reboot.

At the end of the previous episode, they showed the APO staff back in the office with Weiss, slapping his back and looking like they were welcoming him aboard the team.
