I missed the first 10 minutes of the show because I was watching the Gloden Globes. What was going on before Gabrielle and Carlos were fighting about having a baby? Thanks.

I can't believe there is another new episode next week. I'm not complaining or anything. And in other news, Desperate Housewives killed the Gloden Globes in the ratings last night. This show is officially huge!!

By the way, now that we know Wisteria Lane is in Fairview, is it time to start the official "What State do they live in?" thread?

It's been bugging me for a few weeks because they are obviously close enough to a big city that Carlos can have a high-powered finance job and Lynette's husband can be an ad exec, yet there are no modeling opportunities for Gabby, so they're obviously not a suburb of a major city like New York or L.A. Where are they!?!

Jessalyn Gilsig. She also has a recurring role on Nip/Tuck. But that wasn't her in the photo.

I caught a segment of The View today (okay, stop laughing) and Joy mentioned that she was offended by Lynette pretending that her son had cancer. I thought that it was in bad taste as well, and out of character for anyone on the show (the main characters anyway).

It could be a place like North Carolina. Charlotte is a huge banking center (finance) so you could see those types of employment opps but nothing in the modeling industry.

It would have been out of character for Lynette to intentionally shave her son's head and pretend he had cancer.

It was not at all out of character for a series of events to occur that led to everyone assuming that her son had cancer and, when she realizaed what had happened, for Lynette to feel guilty, bite her tongue, and take advantage of the situation.

I have a feeling the fact that she was the biggest name in the cast might have played a part in her winning as opposed to performance.
My theory? Since DH was nominated in the Comedy category, Hatcher won simpley because her role is the most "comedic", with all of her slasptick-y pratfalls. Whereas Felicity Huffman is doing more light-hearted drama and Marcia Cross is playing high camp.

I think that Wisteria Lane and Fairview might be in some metro sized city that isn't enormous. The fact that I have yet to see any winter snow or anyone wearing anything beyond Spring like clothing leads me to believe it might be somewhere in Florida, albeit a Northern area. If I were to name a similar place, I would go for Tallahassee, which is a fairly large city, the capital of the state, and home to a large college as well.

I doubt we'll ever find out as, in this episode, they deliberately deceived us. Edie's license plate said "Eagle State". I happened to catch it as I also wondered where Wisteria Lane is.

Maybe it's all part of a dream of one of the characters.

I've been wondering if "Lost" is a dream of a character from "Desperate Housewives" or vice versa??

That might all depend on which show leaves the airwaves first.
