"Lost" questions

From the previous Lost episode thread, I read this and realized there were quite a few questions I had as well that haven't been answered that I'd forgotten about. I'll try to keep this list up-to-date as new questions arise/are answered. If there are any missing let me know and I'll add them to this post.
  • Who 'whacked' Sayid?
  • How did they survive the crash?
  • What's the monster in the woods (the one running around with the T-Rex)?
  • How was Locke healed?
  • Who did Kate kill?
  • What is the significance of the toy plane?
  • How does Kate fit so much hotness in one tight, little package?
  • Where is Claire? Back at the camp- new question...
  • What happened to Claire's baby?
  • What is the hatch in the ground?
  • Why are there polar bears on a tropical island?
  • How did the French woman get there?
  • What happened to the French womans companions?
  • Where is Jack's father's body?
  • Why do 'fat guys' always provide comic relief?
  • Who were 'Adam & Eve'?
  • Is Rose's husband Bernard alive, or is she just drinking too much coconut milk?
  • Why did the monster kill the pilot, but leave Locke alone?
  • Where is Alex?
  • What was the cable coming out of the water and into the woods that Sayid found?
  • Why did the compass Locke had not work?
  • Who is Ethan Rom?
  • What does Ethan want with Claire's baby (and is that even the case)?
  • Did Locke ever finish the TPS reports before his trip?
  • Why was the psyhic so intent on no one other than Claire raising her baby?
  • What secret does the French woman's map hold?
  • Why were the lyrics to "Beyond the Sea" on the map?
  • Why is the tide rising so quickly?
  • What, if anything, is Walt's power?
  • Why are people talking about Alias in this thread?

I don't know if this one ever got answered when the episode aired, but is anyone else curious where the electrical line that ran to the French woman's hideout from the ocean came from??

The list of questions from this show could go on for pages. Everything is a question mark. Things you don't think are questions become questions after they reveal more.

Ship.
She killed 'em.

Weren't those pretty layed out in the episode?

How about:
Why was the psyhic so intent on no one other than Claire raising her baby?
Did Boone & Shannon really knock boots? I don't buy it.

This is quite true. A thread like this (while seemingly a good idea) will simply be impossible to keep up to date. The entire concept of the show is partially based on the fact that every "answer" leads to a whole host of new questions. THIS is how the show intends to continue more than one season.
ALIAS is better at answering close to all of each season's "questions" as that is the nature of THAT show. Each "reboot" brings radical resolutions. However, it also opens new questions with its revelations too (do we YET know what Sloane is trying to achieve?!?!).

That is just good storytelling. This method allows even new viewers to get invested in the show after just one episode because they can have new questions along with the regular viewer that may bring them back to the show to find out the answers!

I'm not sure that it was ever proven to be an electrical cable, but it is mentioned about 5 from the bottom:

What was the cable coming out of the water and into the woods that Sayid found?

She's so nice he asked it twice.

Ok but seriously, I wanted to ask why Kate had to stage the bank robbery to get into the safety deposit box. Maybe I missed something, maybe its a dumb question.

Why must everything be kept a secret from everyone? There is strength in numbers. Which leads to ...why oh why do the characters continue to venture into the jungle alone? It's not like the others have more pressing matters.

Addendum to Questions:

Who names their kid "Boone?" All season I've thought that was his LAST name.

The 'did Boone/Shannon knock boots?' question should be erased...they did, read my post in the regular thread for the reason.

She's talking about them getting sick and going crazy. Cabin feverish. Some kind of disease.

That's why I think Locke is one of 'they' and when some dead people come back also become 'they'. That's why I think Jack's dad is one of 'they'. And Charlie. Possibly Boone now, too.

I think maybe the baby the aussie chick was carrying died, because she said, "I didn't feel it move for two days." Then, it came back alive as one of 'they', and that's why Ethan wanted to have the baby, because I think 'they' like to stick together. Locke's rounding up troops. I think maybe 'they' can only come back to life if 'they' are willing accomplices.

That's only my crazy ass theory, though, until I hear JJ's better one.

I'm glad you are 100% positive. Others aren't. it is an opinion. The whole flashback could be bs. You can't know for a fact. He was hallucinating during the flashback. You go take a hit of acid and tell me if everything you are thinking/seeing is real.

It just seems too neat and clean for me when everyone else's backstory is pretty complex. And especially that they were pretty quick to hop in the sack, very odd for a brother/sister, blood related or not. ABC is a Disney owned station, and the show is on at 8, family hour. I doubt they would let something like that slide unless something else was going on.

I HAVE to be under the impression that all the flashbacks are true. If the flashbacks are lies, then the entire show breaks down to "a series of events OR semi-halucinations' which would be shit.

According to Shannon's dialog, it was years in the making, and the only reason it happened was that she got busted, and screwed him to open up the money faucet again.

BTW...if graphic sex is only a halucination, it would be OK for 8pm?

Boone's last name is Carlisle. All this time I thought Boone was his last name.

Shannon's last name is Rutherford.

Not really, that is my point. Everyone else was lucid when they had their flashbacks. Boone was on some kind of hallucinagin when he had his. Your point is extremely valid and logical, all I'm saying is that there IS a possiblity that some of Boones's was fantasy because of the drugs, it may be a small possibility, but some nonetheless.

I think all he said was something to the effect that the island was magical.

Unless Walt said something later, it wasn't revealed what Locke said. It cut to a new scene after Locke said, "Do you want to know a secret?"
