If you like the show, fine. What I can't stand is people promoting this, and given many kids a warped sense of reality. I grew up in this area, trust me, there are alot of nice kids, and alot of stuck up pricks. In the early 90's when Death Row was really a huge thing, everyone at my school(extremly waelthy) would come to school with 15" rims, and blasting Snoop, with a Compton hat on and say stupid stuff like, "AHHHHH YeaHHHH". The (Real) Oc is such a joke. If you want to luagh(I'm serious) drive down to Newport Beach, walk into a supermarket during high school lunch hour and listen to how they talk and act. They think there shit don't stink. Its all B.S.and people buy into this mentality. The reason I get so pissed is that people in third world countries have horrendous stuff happen to them everyday where they can barely get one meal a day if they are even lucky(trust me I went on a mission trip and I know), yet whenI was working down there helping to build a seminary, they would always be gratful and thankful. These kids today(especially OC) think that if there bread isn't on a baquette roll with Dijon mustard its the end of the world(trust me I have seen a girl who threw a5 min fit, becuase they didn't have "her" mustard in. I have been around the block, and if you have money great! If you don't, great!!! The one thing that pisses me off more than anything, is people with egos, people who think they are better than other people and people who don't give people in tough jobs the respect they deserve. Karma will come around.

The OC is beautiful glamerous and ritzy(well....Newport Beach is), but the sad thing is, just like Santa Cluas, the people of the OC are mostly fake.

I think I knew him best before this show as Larry Levy in The Player. And not to go into his entire filmography, but I caught a 50s-era music movie called The Idolmaker on TCM a while back, and he did quite a bit of singing and dancing in it. It was a pretty good movie, kind of forgotten now though unfortunately. Anyway I'm pretty sure Gallagher was actually singing in this ep.

Seth: If you're alone, cough twice.
Ryan: I'm alone.
So much of their humor comes from the fact that they're so different. It would be funny to see them start trying to act like each other and Ryan became the geeky annoying one and Seth the brooding loner. I guess that'll have to wait until the show jumps the shark.

What do you think of Arrested Development? It takes place in Newport Beach.
Kids are like that even in the South. You should go to Brentwood TN. In my small town of Crossville, TN we have white kids go around dressing like gang members. The funny thing is Crossville has less a 1% minority population. It is mainly WASP. Southern Baptist bible belting WASPS.

I just remembered that I haven't commented on this episode. I really enjoyed this episode because it concentrated on the family dynamic of the Coens. I think Peter Gallagher gives a wonderful performance as Sandy Coen. I think he should receive a emmy nomination for his work. He is my favorite tv dad right now. I also think Kelly Rowan does a fine job as Kirsten. I like how they compared the Coens with the Nickels this episode. I think they should really either write Marissa off or replace her with another actress. She is mainly the loose screw in the show. I think it is mainly due to how they write her as an alcholic, depressive, suicidal, teenager whose family life is all messed up it seems as if everything that can happen to someone happens to her. They are also adding a new twist that will happen to her that we have seen in promos for upcoming episodes. I really like how Sandy hired the rent a cops. Here's to more great episodes of the OC.

I enjoyed the episode. To me it's been the closest of the episodes so far to have a season 1 feel.

It has nothing to due w/ how her character is written - it has everything to do w/ the one piece of horrible casting on the show.

I know she isn't the greatest actress. She is very wooden, but it would be very hard to encompass the character with all the pratfalls and events that they have given her character. She completely throws the show off but it is due to not only her acting but how they write her character imho.
