the west wing 1/12

back in the glory days of this series when sorkin was creating weekly magic, i always thought the best way to end this show would be to conclude it at the end of the bartlett administration with a final shot of everyone leaving the oval office for his successor's inauguration. unfortunately, this isn't gonna happen.

while josh and donna are my favorite characters, this was not a very good show. i know that the producers are splitting them up so seemingly they can finally get together but this just stunk. i really hope that they don't spend entire hours on the upcoming campaign but somehow i get the feeling that this is the way the show is headed.

This was an hour of Josh and Santos acting like an old married couple

Have to agree to the both of you. And I really don't like what they've done with the Will character. It just seems to totally go against what Sam wrote to Toby before -- "He's one of us."

This episode just reminded me why the political process stinks, and decent people with real ideas to solve problems can't get elected. Its all about "feel good" sound bites to voters.

About 10 minutes into this epsiode, I realized how much I'd like a show like this--an upstart presidential campiagn. Full of scandals, missteps and mistakes. It's obvious what they're setting up for the end of the season, but I still like where it's going. I always liked the ever-brief flashbacks to the original Bartlett campaign and the season where he ran for re-election. Maybe that's 'cause I like the whole process.

And I would definately watch a "West Wing" with Santos as President and Josh as his Leo.

I had a feeling from the outset that Santos was only in it for the "ideas", and had no interest in running a legit campaign. Hopefully they won't drag that idea out very long.

Will's character was completely castrated the second he took the VP's COS job.

Might I recommend Tanner '88? It's probably something you'd really enjoy.

I really liked this episode. I loved the campaign flashbacks in the earlier episodes and I hope the show more of the campaign process in the upcoming episodes.

Remember when West Wing gave you a feeling of hope? That politicians could be better than all that, whatever their politics?

I liked the episode, but I think it's more because Jimmy Smits is playing a non-political politician and so he seems more human.

I'm not really liking the whole Josh-Donna thing however.
