DirecTV added ABC in High Def last night

I was surprised to find that DirecTV turned on the national ABC channels in high definition last night. I just watched the parade in high def and now D* has the ABC bowl games in high definition.

I now have E&W feeds of NBC, CBS, ABC and Fox in HD thanks to DirecTV!

Actually I'm not in an O&O but have had distant networks for years via waivers. You're right though that availability is variable. YMMV.

You'll probably have to wait until the playoffs. I don't think they're doing regular season games in HD.

OK, I have directv, and just got an HD ready TV. If I get the HD receiver from Directv, will these shows be in HD, or do I have to pay directv extra, and get their HD subscription channels?

I'm trying to figure it out before the SuperBowl. I get the Philadelphia networks, if that matters.

DirecTV is saying that they'll have LIL HD in the top 30 markets later this year and Philadelphia is high on that list.

Otherwise you'd need to be O&O right now which Philiadelphia is for ABC. I'm not sure about the others.

Last I knew they were offering the first 6 months of HD free but I'm not sure if that's still ongoing.
