This is another problem with SNL right now. With the loss of Ferrell, there is no "cornerstone" player. Another breakout star is needed. I'm still rooting for Fred Armisen. He's great, but I don't think he would translate well to movie stardom as Ferrell seems to be doing.

What do you know. Fey is the hottest thing going for the show.

Agreed. Tina Fey is hot.
Though I think Seth Meyer should have co-ancored with her instead of Amy Pohler. Even though Amy Pohler is the funniest person on the show now, she's just not right for weekend update.

Next season they should have an all new cast. Start fresh.

I usually defend SNL, but this season has been awful and I've only been midly interested in the show since Ferrell left. I still watch it, but I Tivo it, so I will frequently FF through the painfully unfunny skits.

I noticed that sometimes their celebrity guests will bring a lot to the show too.

i don't know how much of it is Fey's fault. There are so many writers/performers and Michael's uses a heavy hand it's hard to say how much responsibility she has.

If those that think that Weekend Update is the only good thing on SNL i weep for you. Watch TDSw/Jonny boy and you'll see how your Weekend Update is like stale shit.

I give Tina Fey credit for some of SNL's freshest material in years. The show is actually bearable this year.

While I agree that Tina Fey is immensely unfunny on SNL, I agree I'd definitely hit it, and I also agree that she is not the only reason that the show is the least funny it has been since the Terry Sweeney days.

I often find myself fast forwarding to WU. Tina is great in that spot.
