I remember this series from 1979. If I'm not mistaken it was called battle of the planets back then. At one point cartoon network had it as eagle riders.
I've been kinda wanting to see some episodes. Just wondering if any channels carry it at odd hours.

All of the different names refer to different versions of the original Gatchaman. As for showing anywhere, you're just a little late. Boomerang was playing Battle of the Planets on Sunday mornings for quite a while, but I don't see it on the schedule any more. There's plenty of DVDs out there if you have Netflix or care to spend some cash.

hehe, meant to state that all refered to same .....as well as eagle riders...
I never bought into this whole anime thing....maybe I don't understand it's meaning. To me it's just a way to make cartoons seem more adult. Well, apparently this falls into anime ...but I can never find anything about it in anime related sites.
I've seen a "best of" DVD set but I'd much rather find info about the complete series.
Thanks for the info on Boomerang...it's too bad I missed it.

"Anime" is just a term for animation that comes from Japan. Thus, because Gatchaman came from Japan (save for those 7-Zark-7 sequences), it's considered anime.
